The days went by slowly after that phone call.  Taylor never really told Spencer and Ashley what happened, but they knew it must not have been good.  For weeks, Taylor sat in her room and went to school.  After a few weeks, the crying stopped.  The sad songs were no longer blasting through the house.  Instead, Taylor focused completely on her school work.  She joined almost every club at school, and she was getting straight A’s.  A quality that no doubt came from her blonde mother.  Taylor’s junior and senior years passed by quickly.  Ashley was getting really busy with the record label due to signing five bands all at once while Spencer was busy running Taylor around town to all her different meetings and events.

Ashley and Spencer sat at home one night just a month before Taylor’s high school graduation.  The beautiful eighteen year old came running into the living room dressed in a pink and blue Abercrombie shirt with ripped jeans.  To say Taylor’s style had changed over the years would be an understatement.  Taylor seemed happy, but she never dated.  She turned down girl after girl after girl over the years claiming that she had to completely get over Sam before she could move on.  Spencer wondered if she ever would.  She saw that look in Taylor’s eyes.  The look that she gave everyone after she had broken up with Ashley before college.

"Mom, the letter came."  Taylor said spinning around proudly holding an envelope in her hand.  The orange University of Texas logo proudly printed on the outside.  For some reason unknown to Ashley, Taylor wanted to go to Texas.  This was the only school she applied to, and they were willing to let her go.  Deep down, both of them were hoping that she’d find happiness down there somewhere since she was having a hard time finding it here.

"So, open it."  Spencer said.

Taylor opened the letter slowly.  It was the most dramatic thing either one of them had ever seen.  She read the letter slowly.  Her face fell.

"Damn."  Taylor said.

"Hey, it’s ok baby.  There are plenty of other schools."  Spencer said standing up to go to her daughter’s side.

"I got you.  I totally got in."  Taylor said before jumping up and down hugging both Spencer and Ashley.  "I’ve got to call Drake."  She said before running into her room.
