Chapter 5

To say I was devastated after finding Spencer that day, that would have been an understatement.

For 2 months solid I did nothing, went nowhere with the exception of bars, clubs or anywhere else that had alcohol.

It had been 58 days since I saw Spencer, and two years before that since the last time I spoke to her when I Kyla snapped me out of my funk. It was a wake up call for me. It was 3 o’clock in the afternoon and I was wasted

I was in my room, drunk as usual, I had started drink at about 1, and had drunk almost a bottle of tequila when I heard Kyla call for me from downstairs

“Ash?” Kyla yelled as she came up the stairs. I scrambled to hide the tequila. I heard a knock at the door and shoved the bottle under my bed before laying down back on my bed “come in”

She opened the door “you want to come out to dinner with us? Me, Christine and Vince are going down to this new Thai restaurant that jus-“ she said walking across the room but stopped when she sat down. She looked at me closely “have you been drinking?”

“No! No I haven’t” I said and went to sit up but my brain decided it was to fast and made me see more Kyla’s then I should have so I laid back down with a groan.

“Ash! It’s freaking 3 in the after noon and you’re already drunk” she said in a slightly raised voiced

I cringed “could you tone it down a little Ky” I said, I didn’t bother denying it anymore, she knew I was drunk. I closed my eyes a rolled into a ball as she yelled some more.

The yelling stopped after about 2 minutes and I slowly opened my eyes to see multiple Kyla’s shaking their heads “ash what are doing?” she said, gone was her angry voice and in was her calm, disappointed voice. I hated this, I would have rather she kept yelling then this.

“I trying to get some sleep but you’re interrupting me” I said. She sat down again “I meant with your life ash, all you do is lie in bed and get drunk, then go out and get more drunk ash, you need to get over Spencer” she said softly
