Circles and Circles 2 (Part one of… some) – (Chapter: Never gonna let you go (Part two of… some))

Spencer couldn’t help laughing out loud as Ashley raced around to open the car door for her.

“Ashley, I’m fine, I’m not an invalid” she said, getting out with no trouble into the waiting arms of her worried girlfriend.

“You just got out of hospital” Ashley pointed out, sliding a supportive arm around Spencer’s waist. “If you were fine, you wouldn’t have been there.”

“If I weren’t fine they wouldn’t have let me leave!” Spencer protested, but she let Ashley help her into the house, figuring it was easier than arguing. By the time she was ensconced on the couch with everything bar the kitchen sink she was coming up with a few objections though. “Ash for god sakes stop hovering and getting me things and sit down.” She said it with enough emphasis that the brunette stopped in her tracks and sat meekly in an armchair, Spencer chuckled. “Not there doofus, here with me” she scooted over, making room on the couch.

It was warm in Ashley’s arms, and despite herself, Spencer found that she was drifting off. The soothing nature of her girlfriends hand on her brow was nice. Sleepily she murmured under her breath,

“Did you mean what you said?”

“Huh?” Ashley asked, her hand stilling as she pondered the question, not understanding.

“About never letting me go?” Spencer asked, still nodding off.

    “Hell yeah” whispered Ashley. “Never.”

“Mmm”, she was almost asleep. “That sounds nice.”

As Spencer slept, head tucked down on her girlfriends lap and blanket neatly warming her, Ashley watched, heart thick and aching. She had meant what she’d said. She’d let go of Spencer once, in her foolishness and stupidity, and she was damn sure she was never going to do it again. Spencer had become her family now too, and she knew Riley felt the same. Ever since she’d convinced Spencer that paying for an apartment she never saw anymore was futile, they had been a happy threesome. Riley was up north, playing a gig, but when she’d heard Spencer was sick she’d threatened to come back immediately. Ashley had managed to calm her down, but she knew the young musician loved Spence as much as she did. Ok, almost as much. As the thoughts raced through her head, Ashley began to visualize a plan. By the time Spencer stirred a few hours later, it was all ready in the brunettes curly head.

    3. Oh my how sweet. Awwwwwwwww. You should continue this story. Even after part 3. I want to see how they are doing after they get married. If they have children. And where life takes them. This is a great story and needs to be shared with all of us on here.

    5. ::sniff!:: Love it! Love the fluff! ::sings:: We love the fluff! Gotta have that fluff!! AWWWWW…:: Sorry. I’m a little out of it. I’m really freaking hungover and I feel like my eardrums have been filled with hot lead. And despite that horrible burning pain, I still loved the fic! Speaking of which, Jesus rode by to say hey. He was happily going to ring his little bell, but due to my current state, I told him that if he even DARED dinging one tiny little ding that I would shove his bell in a very inappropriate location. So he left. In a huff, I might add. I think he went surfing in Kaui…

    7. Oh and on a side note (now that I’m thinking clearly and no longer in horrible pain): You can never be guilty of overposting (and that goes for you, too, bannerman!). You both are simply causing my morning productivity at work to diminish by a startling degree. Luckily, I have a bevy of med students who are completely under my control so I can set them out on a variety of tasks while I bask in the glory of your ficdom. And then feel horribly guilty. :( Actually, no. I’m not that bad. And work’s been really slow, so I’ve enjoyed the distraction. :)
