DAWN: The unauthorized new finale to the Twilight series
CHAPTER 15:
SORRY
The green swerved around me. How fast was I going? Faster than I had ever gone before. As fast as my legs could take me. I didn’t know what I would do when I found them, but I knew I had to keep going. But where did they go? I kept going straight. I would find them eventually. I had to.
I tripped over a branch and fell to the forest floor. As I caught my breath, I looked around. Everything was green. Saturated green. I gasped, it looked exactly like my dream. I fought back a scream as I got to my feet and kept running. And running. And running. My vision became blurred as I wouldn’t let my self stop for anything.
My lungs begged me for oxygen, but I refused their simple request. They could fall out, or bust into a million pieces, but I would keep going.
Finally I gave in, and fell to my knees. I gasped for air as I laid there, on my stomach, large beads of sweat running down my forehead. I had to find them. I had to.
Once I had caught my breath I continued to run. But I soon stopped. I found myself at the edge of the clearing, the one Jacob had taken me to. The one Seth had died in. What I saw was a frightening sight. The fighting. Oh, the fighting. I saw Sam and Carlisle ferociously clawing at each other on the ground. The hate in Carlisle’s eyes made me loose all of the breath I had just caught. Edward had Quil pinned down, clawing at him fiercely. Emmett and Embry were rolling on the forest floor, it was unclear who was winning. Alice, Esme, Jasper, and Rosalie stood around, unsure what to do. Jacob looked on, afraid and worried. I could see blood on his arm. Jasper stood far away, trying desperately to calm himself.
“JACOB!” I cried, and ran to him, “What happened?”
“Embry scratched me,” He said, “It’s nothing, I’ll heal in a minute.”
“Bella!” Said Esme, “What are you doing here?”
“I couldn’t take waiting!” I pleaded. Esme took me into a hug.
“All we can do is hope,” She said, looking over at the fighting.
