chapter 1 the fight

"i'm going to have to concentrate," I wispered to Edward. "when it comes to hand to hand, it's going to be harder to keep the shield aroung the right people." "I'll keep them off you."

"No you have to get to Demetri. Zafrina will keep them away from me."Zafrina nodded solemnly. "No one will touch this young one," she promised Edward.

"I'd go after Jane and Alce myself, but I can do more good here."

"Jane mine," Kate hissed. "She needs a taste of her own medicine." "And Alce owes me many lives, but I will settle for his," Vladimir growled from the other side. "He's mine." " I just want Caius," Tanya said evenly.

The others started dividing up opponents,too, but they were quickly inturrupted. Aro, staring calmly at Alce's ineffective mist, finally spoke.  "Let us vote then", he said with apparent reluctance. Caius spoke with eager haste. "The child is unknown quantity. There is no reason to allow such a rusk to exist. It must be destroyed, along with all who protect it," He smiled in expectation

I fought back a shriek of defiance to answer his curel smirk. Marcus lifted his uncaring eyes, seeming to look through us as he voted. "I see no immediate danger. The child is safe enough for now. We can always reevaluate later. Let us leave in peace,"

Aro sighed, " It seems I must make the diciding vote, "Suddenly, Edward stiffened at my side. "No!" he hissed. with that, I turned to Jacob. "Jake, go run for the forrest." with a reluctecte look over his sholder at me he ran for the forrest. "Good-bye, Jake I'll miss you."

I turned back to the gathering, I scimmed over the the Voterra. I paused on Demertri, he was glaring in the direction where Jacob disappered. he turned to me and snareled at me. I coulden't help myself I smiled a smile that said you will never have her. I barly reconized that Aro was giving his vote. "Sorry my friends the child is to much a threat." We have to distroy her and the people that protect her." he said with a sad smile playing on his lips.That got a reaction out of our group. with those words I could feal the anger rising through me. I felt my sheild thicken and expaned around my friends. I heard Charlise scream "THEN IT IS WAR!"
