House of Mirrors
The comb slides through
Flawless golden strands,
Uninterrupted.
My eyes only smile
When they are satisfied
And in those days,
I always was.
Mirrors break,
He found me there,
The angel.
Lying there,
Bleeding,
In the street.
You should have left me,
Why couldn't you have left me?
I wanted to wither away.
Wither away…
I would have been happier
In a another place,
A better place
Than this barren, cruel earth.
I am prisoner to this world now,
Led to it in chains,
A beauty to be displayed
To its demons.
How can you say
That it was out of compassion?
For Eternity
The haunting light strikes out from the glass,
Stabbing me with the memories,
Hate follows in tow.
Still, I wanted to wither,
Wither away.
Dear girl, you can live without this
You can see the sun rising in the east
Instead of this imminent darkness.
All of it shattered
Around me, once again
Everything I'd lived through
(Oh, how I wished I hadn't lived through!)
But at the moment I encountered
His stillness,
Little boy dimples,
I recieved
Redemption.
