Paula looked at Franzi’s body on the stretcher. The sight of her love laying still drove her hysterical. Nobody could keep her from her actions.

Paula said, ‘Let me go! Damnit let me go! She needs me!’

John said, ‘It’s no use Paula! She’s dead!’ This sent Paula into a psychotic state.

Paula screamed at John, ‘DON’T’ then Paula froze and resumed, ‘YOU DARE SAY THAT! SHE’S NOT DEAD!’ John got ahold of Paula before she ran away to Franzi. The hard thing he had to do was subdue her back onto the stretcher.

Paula protested, ‘No. NO! LET ME GO TO HER! LET ME GO!’ Falling into a panic, John tried his best to calm Paula down.

John called, ‘Philip! Help!’

Philip ran over to Paula’s side but his heard was torn between her, Emily, and Franzi. Letting his emotions get the better of him, and without any regard for himself, Philip moved behind Paula and grabbed around her arms. Paula forgot about her police training and didn’t escape with Philip holding her tight from behind and John trying to harness her legs.

Paula screamed, ‘You don’t know what you’re doing! Sons of bitches! LET ME GO! AAHHH!!!!’

When she was almost laid back onto the gurney, John lost his grip on Paula’s legs and she kicked it to the street. When she landed on her feet, Paula swung her leg between and then behind Philip’s legs and tripped him. With Philip on the ground, Paula tried to run over to Franzi’s body but John grabbed Paula and turned her back into a tight embrace. He didn’t want to lose her again. In his arms, Paula cried with despair and grief. Philip and Emily stood back quiet, but screaming on the inside with oceans of tears. Philip wasn’t mad at Paula. She had every right to do whatever it took to get to Franzi.

Screaming to high heavens, Paula said, ‘YOU DON’T KNOW WHAT YOU’RE DOING!!!!’

Inside John’s shoulder, Paula cried and said, ‘I love her. I love her.’ When she struggled to get free, John’s embrace only got tighter; same thing when she tried to punch his kidneys and ribs. When Paula got control of her senses, she lost consciousness.

The EMT’s took Paula and Franzi in seperate ambulances to different wards at the hospital. Paula only had first degree burns and smoke poisoning. Paula was under sedation for her mood and her safety. Emily was another matter. John and Philip grilled her about breaking into The Fasan. In Emily’s face, Philip pointed to her and then to the ground.
