More Than Meets The Eye – (Chapter: Introduction: Chpt. 1)
7pm-The night before school starts
“Spencer! Its 11pm, come on, you should be in bed,” Mr. Carlin called up the stairs.
“Mom still not back yet?” the blonde said, stepping out of her room and leaning over the banister, her father coming into view in the foyer.
“Nope, and I’m going to call it a night myself, I’ve been waiting too sweetheart,” Arthur said with a frustrated sigh as he checked the front door to make sure it was locked.
“I’ve been waiting for forever! She said she would be back in time to look at college stuff with me,” Spencer said with a frown.
Mr. Carlin glanced down, pausing a minute before responding. “Just call it a night for night. I know you’ve been working hard on narrowing down your choices. I’ll talk to her, but for now, get some sleep,” he said, and then went on with his regular routine of shutting off the lights in the house so he could retire to his bedroom.
The blue-eyed teen sighed then went back into her room, closing her laptop and deciding to take her dad’s advice and go to bed.
She had a big day tomorrow.
On deck was the first day of the infamous senior year of high school. And not just any high school…but King High.
7:55 am-the next morning
Spencer Carlin pulled into the parking lot, eyes searching for a parking spot, any parking spot.
She had five minutes to park and make it to her first class so she wouldn’t be late.
Couldn’t have that on the first day.
After having a feeling of nervousness rush through her, the blonde finally saw it. One parking spot within a couple feet of her.
Her blue eyes locked onto it like a target for a missle and she accelerated.
Just as she was turned the steering wheel beginning to pull in, a BMW swerved into the spot, barely missing the right side of her Honda Accord.
Spencer’s mouth dropped as she slammed on breaks.
The driver of the BMW, stepped out looking unphased, grabbing her backpack out of the backseat and turning away from the blonde, walking towards the school building.
Spencer shook her head disbelievingly and pulled forward a couple feet finding a parking space a few feet away.
