    Neighbor-Boy – (Chapter: Eight)

Spencer has been driving for hours. Ashden is half asleep in the passenger seat. “Babe, wake up. You can’t sleep if I can’t sleep.” She pokes him. “What? Where are we?” He sits up. “How should I know? You’re the one with the secret hide out.” She shakes her head. “Good point. Uh, take the next exit. We should be almost there.” He checks his GPS. “How exactly do you have a secret hide out?” Spencer raises an eyebrow. “Let’s just say I have connections.” He stretches. “Connections?” She merges. “I can’t give you the specifics. All you need to know is that some people owe me a favor.” He points left.

“What kind of hide out is this Ashden?” Spencer squints at him. “A safe one. Don’t worry. I would never put you in danger.” He takes her hand. “Why would I be?” She slows down to look at him. “If I told you then you would be. Turn right up here.” He looks out the window. “Ashden, you’re scaring me.” They pull into a small town. “Look, Spencer, we’re rich. The people that come through our lives have secrets. But as long as you’re with me, you’re safe. Understand?” He nods at her and points right. “Yea,” This does nothing to calm her.

They’re on a block with medium sized houses. It looks like a nice residential area. “Left and then it dead ends. Last house on the block.” Ashden pops his knuckles. When they pull up he gets their bags out of the car. He uses a key on his key ring to open the door. “What do you think?” He hits a light switch as they cross the threshold. The place is nice, wood flooring, high ceilings, expensive furniture. “It’s nice. Why?” Spencer is a little suspicious. “I want to impress you.” Ashden leads her down a hall to the left.
Two doors. One is the master bedroom. It has a king size bed, a fancy armoir, a glass wall that looks out to the pool. “It’s working. All you have to do is tell me no one died here and I’m all yours.” Spencer peeks into the master bathroom. A jaccuzi and a shower with jets in the walls.

“Trust me. No one died here. Family’s just on vaca.” Ashden puts their bags on the floor. “Whose family?” Spencer takes off her shirt and pants. “A man, his wife and their kid.” Ashden strips down to his boxers and binding. “That’s not what I asked.” She gets in the bed. Ashden crawls over to her and combs her hair back with his hand. “You’re insatiable.” He kisses her, leans into her so she lays back.
