Not The Type 2: Established – (Chapter: Chapter 5)

    “Spencer!”

I hear my name, but I have no idea where it’s coming from. For Jordan’s 28th birthday we decided to throw a party. We talked Ashley’s mom into letting us host it at her house. We promised her that it wouldn’t be like the high school parties we throw or attend. But it is. Even as adults, people still have no regard for your shit. It’s a good thing we locked all the bedroom doors and put anything and everything of value in a safe place…

“Hey…” Jordan steps in front of me. “Arre you deaf?! I’ve been cal…calling you.” She yells/slur the first part then whispers the rest, with a little giggle at the end.

“What’s up?” I ask, grabbing her arm to keep her from swaying.

“Ashley says to geet…people out…” She frowns. “Dude, I’m drunk.”

“Okay.” I take her hand and pull her through all the bodies. I’ve had my own share of drinks, making me stumble a little, and knocking people’s cups out of their loose hands as I pass.

“Guys?” I hear Brooke call out to us.

“Join.” Jordan sticks out her hand and Brooke grabs it, joining our line.

“Whoa…wait…” Taylor protest when Brooke grabs her hand, dragging her behind us.

“Spence…seriously, where the fuck are we going?” Jordan complains five minutes later when I’m still pulling them around the house.

“Has anyone seen, Ashley?” I stop abruptly, making everyone walk into each other. They all groan and say no to the Ashley question.

“Where’s your shirt?” I ask Taylor when I finally take the time to look at her. Her shirt is gone leaving her standing on bare feet, with her jeans on and a bra.

“I don’t know.” She flashes a drunken smile. “Last time I seen it… some girl had it between her teeth.” I roll my eyes and let go of Jordan’s hand.

“I can’t find my phone. Someone call Ash.”

“Wake up!” I jump half off the bed when I hear Ashley’s voice. It sounds like she has a mega phone. “Get the fuck up!” I look over to the doorway. Ashley’s standing there with her arms crossed.

“Ashley…” Brooke groans and rolls over, removing her head from my shoulder. “It’s too early for you to be acting like a lame. Please leave so I can go back to sleep.”
