    SPENCER’S P.O.V.

    Ashley is so great, she totally stuck up to her Aunt from hell for me. All of the guests and family members are gone. Mom dad and aunt Chris are down stairs by the fire. I’m up in my room with Michelle.

    Spencer: “So, how’d you like my family? The nice ones.”

    Michelle: “Your family’s awesome.” she says in monotone.

    Spencer: “Chelly what’s wrong.” she sits on my bed. Somehow, I know. I can feel it.

    Michelle: “This…it…it isn’t working. Is it?” she looks at me, waiting for an answer. An answer that I really don’t want to give her.

    Spencer: “What do you mean?” I say pretending not to know.

    Michelle: “I think you know very well what I mean.” she says sadly. I sigh. Yes…I know exactly what she’s talking about.

    Spencer: “Me and you?” I ask hesitantly.

    Michelle: “Yea. I mean, there is something there…but it’s more like…a friendship.”

    Spencer: “Michelle, I really like you.”

    Michelle: “Yea, you do, I can tell. But, more as a friend than a girlfriend.” I look down. “It’s not there…that fire. The craving for one another. We’re not girlfriends Spencer, it doesn’t feel like it. You don’t even want to sleep with me.”

    Spencer: “I didn’t want to push you into anything.”

    Michelle: “Didn’t want to push me into anything?” She asks incredulously. “Spencer, we’ve been together for five months now. Every time our make out sessions get heated, you push me away. I haven’t been in many relationships, but generally when your girlfriend doesn’t want to have sex with you, that means there’s something wrong.” I look down at my hands.

    Spencer: “I’m sorry, I…I don’t know. I don’t know what is.”

    Michelle: “I do…you’ve got a thing for Ashley.” my eyes shoot up.

    Spencer: “What? No I-” she cuts me off.

    Michelle: “Spencer…” she chuckles softly. “…the sideways glances, the constant interruptions from Ashley, and then there is the fact that she’s always around, and when she’s not around you’re always talking about her…it’s obvious you both want each other.”

    Spencer: “I-I’m really sorry.” I say quietly.

    Michelle: “Our relationship is really good. But that’s it, it’s only good. It’s not fantastic, terrific, super, whatever. I like being with you but…you don’t want me in that way.”

    17. YAY!!! Finally some progress!! Michelle is so great and I’m going to miss her but she so had to go. I’m happy she didn’t get really hurt though. Now, Ash has to get a clue and everything will be great. Awesome update!!! PMASAP!!!
