PREVIOUSLY:

ASHLEY’S P.O.V. 

Christine: “I’ve been dating someone.” I feel the blood drain from my face. “His name is Mark, and I invited him over for dinner tonight.”

Ashley: “You can’t be serious.” I say not believing her.

Christine: “I am serious. He has a son and he’s bringing him for dinner too.”

My mom opens the door and we see a tall guy, with low cut brunet hair. He’s wearing a suit and those dressy shoes. This guy looks uptight, fixing his neck tie.

Christine: “Ashley, Spencer this is Mark Gammon. Mark this is my daughter Ashley and this is her girlfriend, Spencer.”

Mark: “Nice to meet you two.” he smiles and steps forward just a little, kissing my mother which just about makes me throw up my dinner when we haven’t even eaten it yet.

Mark steps into the house. My arms fall from Spencer and the blood drains from my face as he reveals…

Mark: “This is my son-” before he can say anything I blurt out.

Ashley: “Asshole?!”

Jake: “Hot lesbian chicks?!” he says excitedly.

ASHLEY’S P.O.V.

Christine: “Language, Ashley!”

Ashley: “Sorry mom, Mark..” I say remorsefully. “…Jake.” I sneer while wrapping my arm protectively around Spencer’s waist.

Jake: “Didn’t think you’d see me again, did ya?” He smirks and winks.

Mark: “Oh, I see you’ve had the pleasure of meeting my son.” He smiles proudly.

Ashley: “Pleasure?” I chuckle. “Puh-lease! I’d rather have hemorro-” Spencer elbows me and smiles through gritted teeth.

Spencer: “Excuse us.” She says politely as she pulls me into the living room.

Spencer: “Ashley…don’t get worked up over this. Your mom seems happy, don’t let that jerk ruin it.”

Ashley: “I can control myself as long as he doesn’t act like a dick.”

Spencer: “Baby…” she pouts while giving me that oh so adorable head tilt.

Ashley: “Spencer don’t…”

Spencer: “Please.” she pouts, giving me those puppy eyes and breaking down my last shred of resolute.

Ashley: “Fine!” I say reluctantly while trying to hold back a smile. “But if he crosses the line then it’s over.” I say seriously.

She just smiles, pecks me on the lips and pulls me along to the living room.

My mom introduced Mark and jackass to everyone. So I guess Mark is with Arthur while my mom is with Paula finishing dinner and Spencer and I are in the living room sitting as far away from Jake as possible. He’s sitting across from us, staring at us like we’re a steak dinner.
