Something Clever – (Chapter: Sushi pt.2)

Time stopped. In an instant my tears subsided and were replaced by questions and fear. She halted her actions, waiting for me to meet her. I couldn’t do it, I wasn’t ready for this. I am in love with her and all I’ve ever wanted was have her love returned. Well, here we are, two inches away from my face and I can’t do it. I wasn’t expecting for the night to go this way, I was expecting to walk away from her tonight and hate her.

I had all these thoughts and questions running through my head but I let them go. We could talk later, now is the time, I may never have this chance again, and I can not live knowing that. I start to move towards her. Apparently I took too long to decide because as soon as I closed my eyes and barely let my lips graze hers, I felt her moving away from me. I instantly opened my eyes. She was sadly shaking her head, backing away. Did she think I didn’t want this?

    “What?? W-w-what’s wrong Spence?”

“Why did you have to think so hard on whether or not you wanted to kiss me? I know that if I was in your position I wouldn’t have to think twice.”

    “I don’t have to think twice…”

    “Oh yeah? Prove it.”

So I stood to her level. I grabbed her by the hips and pulled her into me. I don’t think we could have been any closer at that moment.

    “How am I doing?”

She didn’t say a word, instead she pulled my face to hers and we met in the most fierce and intense kiss I have ever experienced. You know in movies and in the end when the couple finally kisses and the camera spins around them? That’s how I felt, like I was spinning and like I was in a movie. This kiss, it seemed so unreal. The fact that I was kissing Spencer, well that, that was beyond incredible. Eventually we broke apart, but we didn’t move an inch. I stared deeply into her eyes and said everything I needed to with my eyes. She understood how much I loved her and that I wouldn’t run from this. How could I ever run from the only one that could ever make me stay? This was unreal, and all of a sudden I realized we were still at the restaurant and we had a crowd.
