    not a story… just another sad b.s. news about the show SON

    As some of you may have already heard, SON is getting pushed back til fall. This is what the N has to say about it.

    "All of us at The N have been absolutely overwhelmed by your reaction to the news about South of Nowhere. We so deeply appreciate your passion for and dedication to the show — it has meant a lot to us as a network, just like we know the show means a lot to you.

    While sorting through the mountains of feedback that you have shared with us about the show , we realized that if we really want to give South the proper send-off it deserves, we’re going to need more time. So we decided to move the premiere date to the fall. I know it’s going to be hard to wait for the final season , but we’ve planned a lot of special material (retrospectives, a final webisode, cast-vommented episodes, podcasts and more) to say goodbye to this beautiful, important series, and we really don’t want to rush it. It is out of respect for the show and for you, the fans, that we’re trying to give it the time and attention it deserves.

    Also, this way, when the series airs in the fall, it will be playing with a new season of Degrassi. That means it has a chance to be seen by a lot more people, and I think we can all agree that the more people that see South of Nowhere — that learn about these characters and their lives and loves and struggles — the better.

    Thanks for loving South of Nowhere as much as we do. We promise to work hard to honor the final season this fall.

    Now i think we being punished cuz we keep sayin we’re boycotting…

    they’re like " oh yeah? your boycotting? your calling us all this names?… BAM!!! this is wat you’re gonna get… we’re pushing it til fall. MUAHAHAHAHAHA"

    seriously i can picture them sayin that while they’re seating on one of those round tables with their suits on and papers on the desk and some water while theres one person standing refilling the water when it’s almost empty… yup

    so what do you all think about that??

    1. if they want to make it so ‘special’ as they put it and if they think that it’s good that people learn about this kind of stuff, then why wont they just renew the show!!!!!

    3. …I’ll play devil’s advocate. I knew no matter how much people rallied to keep SON going The-N wouldn’t budge. This wasn’t solely a network decision as Mandy Musgrave, Matt Cohen and Gabrielle Christian all had the opportunity to renew their contracts regardless of pay. SoN isn’t Friends, it’s not on a big time network with a huge budget nor is it viewed by 1 million+ people and episode, The-N realistically simply did not have the means of providing the stars more money (it is ensemble as well, Valarie Ortiz has been there just as long as Matt, wouldn’t she like a bigger check?) The cast was even quoted as saying that their budget was non-existent. I’m positive they got rid of Best Years partially because they did not have the money to continue it. There are a lot of conspiracy theories, nobody really knows why SoN is being canceled. I’m sure it’s The-N’s new direction as well as budget problems. I guess what i’m trying to say is, people need to cut the network some slack. They were the only network with guts enough to bring a show of this nature to television and keep it on the air amidst America’s politically correct mentalities. It would be so easy for The-N to give us nothing. To air the final few episodes of SON in April and wipe their hands of all the hassle the show has brought as well as it’s disgruntled fans. Instead they are spending more money and taking out more production time to give us behind the scenes, extra commentary, specials and possibly a two hour finale…If this is a punishment then what’s a reward? (besides renewing the show)?

    4. you know what? i say we all just completely forget the-n.im so done with it right now. they already pushed it back once so why should we have to wait again? and its not like they’re gona give us much more spashley. they’re so freaking limited with what they can have the girls do that they should just leave the season the way it is now. ughhhhhhhhh

    5. i think Im going to search for Gabrielle Christians parents house in Maryland when I go there this weekend thru wednesday for our college basketball tournemnt. i heard she was going to be in washington this weekend so most likely shell go to her parents and then i can BEG Her to walk back on to SON and convince Mandy and Matt and Maeve as well to all go back on. So sadddddd.
