    Sweet Child O’ Mine.

    -Sweet Child O’ Mine-

I wish I could help her, Make Her smile and understand that I’m never gone.
I would give anything to see that smile of hers again. That smile that lights up the room and the faces around her. I remember When she was Younger and I’d come home from a tour…

    -SCM-

"Daddy!" She ran and jumped into my arms. "Your home!" She hugged me tightly.

"Yeah, baby, I’m home. Did you miss me."

    "Yeah." She smiled brightly.

    "How much?"

"Tons and bunches!" She hugged me again.

    -SCM-

If I had only known that the smile that use to cross her face wouldn’t be seen
as often I never would have left. I loved Ashley. She was my whole world. If only I hadn’t done it.

She’s got a smile that it seems to me
    Reminds me of childhood memories
    Where everything
Was as fresh as the bright blue sky
Now and then when I see her face
She takes me away to that
    special place
And if I stared too long
I’d probably break down and cry

    -SCM-

"Daddy, Don’t go please!" She begged following me out to my car.

    "Daddy has to."

    "Why?" She begain to cry.

"Because, I can’t be here with your mother. Daddy messed up. Your mom and I don’t seem to like each other as much as we once did." I tryed to explain.

"Well, No one likes Mommy, She’s mean and hateful. But You don’t see me leaving." It broke my heart to see her so upset.

"I have to go. I love you Ashley." I kissed her forhead and climbed in my car.

"Daddy!" She called out as I pulled out of the drive way leaving my sweet child behind.

    -SCM-

I never spent enough time with her. But I think that not being around me will better
her in the long run. I’m not exactly father of the year. I know this. But I loved Ashley and she loved me. I want her to be able to find happiness. The happiness I never found. The last time I saw My daughter I knew she had found it from the way she looked at the Blonde hair, Blue eyed beauty. The fact that Ashley invited Spencer to our dinner together was a shock. Ashley never let me meet her friends, But she walked up to me holding Spencers hand smiling that 100 Watt smile that rarly grazed her lips shining brightly told me that spencer was the one. The one to help mined my daughter fragil torn heart. The one who would keep her smiling and keep her safe from pain.

    -SCM-

    "Dad, This is spencer. My…"

"Girlfriend." Spencer finished smiling at Ashley. "Nice to meet you."

    "You too."

We spent a great evening of laughing, Stories and smiles together. And I hadn’t seen Ashley this happy since. The dad I came home from tour early for her 4th birthday.

"Well girls I had a great night."

"Me too dad." she hugged me tightly.

"Come on spencer." I held my arms open and she hugged me back. "Take care of her for me." I whispered in her ear.

    "I will." She promised.

    Sweet child o’ mine
    Sweet love of mine

She’s got eyes of the bluest skies
As if they thought of rain
I hate to look into those eyes
And see an ounce of pain
    Her hair reminds me
    of a warm safe place
Where as a child I’d hide
    And pray for the thunder
    And the rain
To quietly pass me bySpencer kept that promise.

Looking down on Ashley now I can see that Spencer kept that promise.
shes holding Ashley tight. Telling her everythings gonna be okay and that shes here. Every day I thank th lord for sending my baby girl such an amazing girl to love her, care for her and hold her while she crys.

I wish there was a way that I could just tell Ashley, Don’t mourn my death and don’t
push spencer away. I want her to remember that I’m always here, In her heart.

    Sweet child o’ mine
    Sweet love of mine

    Where do we go
    Where do we go now
    Where do we go
    Sweet child o’ mine

    1. What do you meant it’s not that great? It’s damn great. I’m going to go away and grumble at you now for making assumptions about it’s greatness. Grumble.. grumble…
