    Chapter Thirty-Four

    Spencer and Ashley were sitting down in Spencer’s kitchen. “There sure are slim pickings out there,” Glen began as he opened the refrigerator. Spencer looked at Glen. “You’re setting Kyla up, right?” Glen drank straight from the coca-cola bottle and Spencer and Ashley looked disgusted.

    “Yeah, we are, Glen. If you’re not part of the solution for my sister to stay in LA then you are part of the problem.” Glen glared at Ashley and walked away. It didn’t faze Ashley. She looked at Spencer and gave her a small smile.

    Spencer looked at Ashley and was trying not to laugh, however failed. “That’s one way to get rid of him.” Ashley laughed. “Is he acting weirder than usual?” Ashley nodded in agreement. “We’ll find someone for Kyla, right?”

    “I hope you’re right. Even though she bugs me, she’s still my sister.” Spencer put her arm around Ashley and Ashley rested her head on Spencer’s shoulder.

    Spencer and Ashley were eating ice cream in Spencer’s room. She had eaten her cookies and cream ice cream too quickly and made a face. Ashley gave Spencer amused. “A-are you okay?” Spencer nodded and Ashley patted her back. Spencer began to cough and took a sip of water.

    “T-thanks for that. “I owe you one.” Spencer lied back down on her bed and Ashley did the same thing.

    “What are you thinking about, babe?” Ashley was stroking Spencer’s hair.

    “I was just thinking how much things have changed since I moved here from Ohio.”

    “Is that a good thing?” A smile appeared on Spencer’s lips and she kissed Ashley sweetly on her lips. Ashley cupped Spencer’s face and sucked on her bottom lip. Spencer tangled her fingers in Ashley’s curls. Ashley pulled back from the kiss with a smile. “It’s definitely a good thing.”

    The doorbell to Spencer’s house rang. “Glen, could you get that!” Ashley gave Spencer a look. “It beats getting up.” Ashley pressed her lips lightly against Spencer’s.

    Glen answered the door and noticed it was Kyla. “Is my sister here? I… I need to talk to her.”

    “Yeah, but are you okay?” Kyla shook her head no. “I heard you’re on a quest in search for a new boyfriend.” Kyla rolled her eyes.
