Ashley’s Pov – Many months later

I was rummaging through my closet with Spencer right beside me.

Ash: “What about this?”
Spe: “It’s not professional enough for court.”
Ash: “You’re right. I‘d be lost without you.”

The last thing I needed was months of working with my lawyer to go down the drain just because I picked the wrong outfit. I had court in an hour. It took months before they set a date, but today I was finally going to find out the outcome of Jasper suing me. I hope he didn’t get too much money from me. I had plans for my future. I wanted to open my own record company, I wanted to throw my beautiful fiancé the perfect wedding, I wanted to maybe go to college. There was a lot of money needed for those things.

Ash: “What about this?”
Spe: “I like that one.”

It was the fanciest thing I owned. I never wore it. It was something you would see a business lady wearing. Or a female lawyer. Kind of like a suit with a skirt. It wasn’t my style, but it was exactly what I needed to wear today. I “suited up” and began fixing my hair when I saw Spencer come up behind me in the mirror. I wasn’t in a good mood, but I could never be sour with Spencer.

Ash: “Can I help you Ma’am?”
Spe: “No, I was just drooling over you. You look really sexy in that outfit.”
Ash: “Maybe I should wear it more often.”
Spe: “Most definitely. Are you SURE I can‘t come with you today?”
Ash: “POSITIVE! You have a huge test today. You can’t fail just because I have to go to court.”
Spe: “Yes, but in the long run it is my fault you have to go to court.”
Ash: “Oh, hush with your theories. I’ll never believe it. Things happen for a reason anyway.”
Spe: “What ever you say Ash. I want you to text me updates as often as you can. Please?”
Ash: “That I can do.”

She leaned down and kissed my cheek before she left for school.

Spe: “You will be wearing that when I get back?”
Ash: “What ever you want.”

I laughed at her and nearly had to push her out the door. This day was definitely going to be a lot longer without her by my side.
