“Tee baby what’s going on?” Bette asked Tina when they were alone.
“Who was that woman?” Tina demanded.
“A mistake.” Bette replied.
“According to her, she’s the love of your life.”
“What?? She’s a snake! That’s what she is. A fucking snake.” Bette said shaking her head, “I’m going to kill her.” she gritted.
“Why are you with me Bette?” Tina asked not letting go.
“What?”
“Why are you with me?”
“I like being here with you.” Bette said not getting it.
“Bette, do you want to help me because I remind you of your mother?” Tina asked.
Bette’s eyes grew big. “I… Tina that’s… I don’t understand.”
“Yes or no?”
“Tina, I saw something familiar in you but…”
“Yes, or no?”
“Yes.”
Tina looked hurt, Bette reached her hand to touch Tina, “Get away from me Bette.” She hissed walking away.
“Tina, come back here! We’re not done!” Bette ordered.
“Fuck you!” Tina said Bette ran after her, she grabbed her, “Tina, what’s going on?”
“Stop humiliating me Bette, I’m not your little project, I’m not your redemption.”
“Tina, we can talk about this. Please.” Bette begged.
“Talk about what? What were you going to do? Pity fuck me?”
“What? Tina, talk to me.”
“I know, ok? I know you’re only with me because you want to help me, because I remind you of your mother.”
“Tine, no!” Bette gasped. “That’s bullshit!”
“You just said so!”
“No! No I didn’t. You asked me why I wanted to help you, not why I’m WITH you. I told you I wanted to HELP you because I’ve seen something similar happening to my mother. But baby, I want to be you with you because I WANT to be with you! Otherwise I would have just helped you. You don’t have to sleep with someone to help them. If I have to choose, help you or be with you I’d choose to be with you.” Bette said, desperate to get her point across.
Tina looked at her.
“From the start… I mean… you can ask Alice! She warned me not to get into anything for the wrong reasons, and I didn’t. Tina this is real! ” Bette said taking Tina’s hands, “This has nothing to do with me wanting to help you. This is the outcome. Tina, you know I’ll never do this, my feelings for you are real, they have nothing to do with wanting to help you and everything to do with who you have become!”

I love Bette and Tina’s teasing and the build up to when they are ready to make love. I am glad that Tina listened, but I have a feeling some Candace drama will be coming down the road. I can’t wait to read more except my eyes are barely open so I will have to wait until tomorrow.
