Shane wakes up early in the morning. She thinks to herself ‘ today is the day.’ She gets up and heads to the kitchen for her morning cup of coffee.  She sits at the table trying to not let her nerves take over her. So much work has gone into the gesture for Carmen, ‘ I only can hope that she sees I am serious and want a future with her.’

Max walks out from his and jenny’s room.

Max-“hey, today is the big day! How are you holding up?”

Shane-“excited, worried, scared out of my fucking mind.”

Max-“ that’s normal, I am sure she will love it shane.”

There is an odd silence between them. Shane isn’t used to Max of all people being so rational with her.

Shane-“ all I can do is hope.”

Max-“ why are you up so early today? Have a few clients coming in early?”

Shane-“No, I took the day off I have some finishing touches to put together. Plus I have to pick Carmen up to take her to the show.”

Max-“ okay well I will see later, if I don’t see you before hand, good luck.”

Shane-“thank you max.”

Next door Bette and Tina are still in bed, but Bette is coming very close to being late to her  own arrangements to get everything ready for opening night.

Alice is at home working on the chart as usual, while Dana is back at the courts trying to get herself used to how it feels to be back in the running for her next big Championship.

The only one who isn’t enjoying their day already is Carmen. Sam hasn’t come home and Carmen is starting to get worried. ‘today is a big day, I don’t know what shane has planned but I know whatever it is it must be big. She wouldn’t even tell jenny what is up, that isn’t like her.’

Just then Sam walks in the door.

Sam-“hey”

Carmen-“ where the hell have you been!?”

Sam-“out”

Carmen-“ you didn’t even call me back, for god sake you could have been in a ditch somewhere and I would have never even know!”

Sam-“I didn’t think you cared anymore.”

Carmen-“ bullshit, you know I care about you even if I am not happy with everything you have been doing” trailing off in mid sentence.
