A Single Mom Meets Someone New Ch 84
Gillian sat at a table in the courtyard between the Art building and the little Cafe, busily doing homework.
“Fancy meeting you here.” The bartender from the night before said. Gillian smiled when she saw who it was.
“I know right.” She said.
“Mind if I join you.” She said.
“No go ahead.” Gillian said.
“We didn’t formally meet last night my name is Grace.” She held out her hand.
“Gillian.” Gillian shook her hand.
“You caused quite the scene in class today. The whole department is talking about it.” Grace said.
“Yeah. I didn’t know you were in that class. Isn’t it an Intro class?” Gillian said.
“I sit in the back. It is but it’s super hard to get into because it counts as two different credits for non art majors and a requirement for all art majors. I don’t think there are any freshman in the class except you. How is that by the way?” She asked.
“It helps that Bette, I mean Dean Porter is my stepmom.” Gillian said.
“Oh. Oh then forget what I said last night.” Grace said.
“No, it’s okay you were right she is brutal.” Gillian smiled.
“If you don’t mind me asking what was all that about?” She asked. Gillian looked at her for a moment and then around at all the people staring at them.
“You mind if we walk and talk.” Gillian said.
“Sure.” Grace smiled. They started walking across campus to athletic department.
“What you saw in class was Bette’s way of trying to figure out what happened last light at the bar. Alice must have opened her fucking mouth. Which I plan on killing her for by the way, because my Mom has been calling all day.” Gillian said.
“What did happen last night?” Grace asked.
“That is a very very long story.” Gillian said.
“Well I’ve got all day.” Grace said.
“Skylar” Gillian paused. It still stung to say her name. “Is my ex-girlfriend.”
“Oh.” Grace said.
“It didn’t end very well. In fact it was pretty bad. It was a couple of years ago. She was my first love.” Gillian said.
“I see.” Grace said.
“I guess last night I realized that I’m going to have to get used to being around her because she is such a huge part of family’s life. She’s my sister’s best friend.” Gillian said.
“So you aren’t seeing anybody right now?” Grace asked.
“No not really.” Gillian smiled at Grace.
“I was going to ask you last night but you left before I got the chance. Would you have dinner with me tonight?” Grace asked.
“I want to but I can’t I’ve got to go to opening at MOCA tonight but if you’d like to come over before and maybe go with me as my date?” Gillian said.
“That works for me.” Grace smiled.
“Cool. You can meet me here in about 2 hours or I can give you the address.” Gillian said.
“Whichever is better for you.” She said.
“Meet me here. You can change at the house if you want.” Gillian said taking Grace’s hand.
“Okay.” Grace grinned. Grace leaned in and kissed Gillian on the cheek then turned and walked away.
Gillian watched her until she was out of sight. She pulled out her phone and texted Jaime.

I was (and still am) hoping that she and Skylar could work things out and get back together.
there’s still a chance cpq…another person in the mix makes that other person make a move.
Hey Charmed, I am loving how this story is progressing. Life does move on and Gillian is beginning to grow up. She is ready yo take on the responsibilities of having a relationship and it ending badly. Yes, Skylar is still a presence in Gillian and her family’s lives so it is up to them to sort things out. Grace seems fun and very interested so roll on the opening. Many thanks from Your Loyal Fan.
