Bette: "What?"
Stevie: "I said I was with Brice."
Bette: "I heard you Stevie!"
Bette took a step back and ran a hand through brown curls.
Bette: "Why the hell were you with your ex-husband, wait I mean your husband?!"
Stevie: "I needed answers."
Bette: "Answers about what?"
Stevie leaned over and pulled an old and beat up news paper article out of her back pocket. She handed it over to Bette. Bette reluctantly took the paper and reached over to a lamp sitting down once more.
Bette: "What is this?"
Stevie: "Read it."
After a few seconds Bette looked up at her.
Bette: "A murder. What about it?"
Stevie: "Thats my father. He killed my mother. He took everything good away from me."
The tears were now pouring down her face once more.
Bette: "I dont get where Brice falls into this."
Stevie: "I was with Brice right after I left my foster home. He knew almost everything about me and my past. What he didnt know he found out from the adoption agency. When he beat me up I suffered from a mild amnesia for a while. Not like that tv forget your own name amnesia but more of a selective kind. Most of the bull shit in my life I blocked out. The stuff that hurt me or that I just couldnt handle. After I got out Brice would make it a point to remind me of my past to keep me in a mental choke hold. He neglected to tell me everything though."
Bette: "So whyd he tell you now especially after he did so much to keep you back then?"
Stevie: "I dunno. Cuz I asked I guess. And he knew I was never coming back to him. Even if he thought he could muscle me into staying he figured it wouldnt be long before Shane or someone came looking for me. He’s not the same person he once was. He has a new hustle now. Thats the reason why he gave Xavier back. Dont get me wrong hes still coniving bastard but he’s just smarter now or something I guess."
Bette: "So let me get this straight. You were feeling sufficated, ran, went to Brice and he filled you in on your past?"

What did Stevie expect, a hug and welcome back honey. Good for Bette for not letting Stevie off so easy. Stevie needs to do a lot of damage control, everybody has problems, it doesn’t that we could cut ourselves from the responsiblities.
Probie, pretty much said everything I wanted to say so I hope Stevie listens! It’s time to prove to Bette how much she loves her, because even before she ‘left’ she had emotionally abandoned Bette
You know we all have a cross of some sort to carry in life, but don’t use it as a crutch. Its time for Stevie to grow up, shit happens, deal with it, and move on. Bette had every right to be pissed, you don’t just up and walk away. What about the next time the load gets to heavy.
I never got Bette and Stevie anyway…
Please let them talk more and hope they not split up!
Ok, so now we no why. It time for Stevie to prove she in for the long haul. Time for her to make amends and I don’t mean just saying I’m sorry. How does Bette know that she won’t cut and run when she has her doubts? Actions speak louder than words. Stevie knows what she’s not, now she needs to show Bette, the kids and even Shane what she is!
Vibes! I gotta tell ya i don’t blame Bette. She has been placed in a tough situation and i thought they had worked out some of this. Obviously not. I can’t wait until the next update. I have to tell you i’m sooo glad you’ve started updating again. Of course i want more…so keep it coming!
I am with pands, I am sure Bette thought that some of this was worked out. Some scars run so deep..but Stevie needs to be strong enough to allow herself to be happy. At least they are still talking..There is hope!
can’t say i am a big fan of stevies, i think bette deserves better, and i think her explaination kind of sucked, but i luv your writing and i can’t wait for more!!!!
