Around 7:30 Bette heard yet another knock at the front door. She was finding that her heart would leap with 

each knock.  To her slight disappointment she found Shane and Paige standing there with big goofy grins on 

their faces.

Bette:  "oh hey guys.  What's up?"

Shane:  "we're here for Angelica and Xavier."

Paige:  "Yup."

Bette:  "Um ok.  Why?"

Paige:  "Well you know...just to..."

Shane:  "Hang."

Paige:  "Right hang."

Bette:  "Ooook.  Ill put them in their pj's so you can put them down."

Shane:  "Oh don't worry about it.  Just give us the stuff we'll handle the rest."

Paige:  "Yeah so you can keep getting ready."

Shane nudged Paige in the side at her slip. 

Paige:  “Ohh, um….sorry.”

Bette:  “It’s ok Shane.  I already know Stevie has plans for us this evening.  I just don’t know what yet.”

Bette smiled at he couple.

Shane:  “Well then we won’t keep you any longer then.”

Bette:  “Angel, Xavier auntie Shane’s here to pick you up.”

The kids came barreling out of their room.

Angelica:  “Hi Auntie Shane!”

Xavier:  “We go with you?”

Shane:  “Yeah buddy.  Go get some stuff and we’re gonna head to my place.”

Xavier:  :”Cool!”

Xavier took off for his room with Angelica right on his heels.

Bette:  “Well that made their night.”

Shane and Paige just smiled. 

Bette:  “Ok well I guess I will go finish getting ready.  Is there any chance that you’ll tell me what she has planned?”

Shane gave Bette that ‘you must be kidding me’ look while Paige nodded.  Soon the kids were back with back packs loaded and jackets dragging.”

Angelica:  “Ready!”

They both started for the door.

Bette:  “Um, guys you gonna say good bye to mama?”

They both began to giggle as they walked over to Bette and each grabbed a leg to squeeze.

Bette:  “Goodnight my babies.  I’ll see you in the morning.”

After they agreed the kids were quickly back at the door again.  Shane opened it up and grabbed each of their hands.

Shane:  “Night Bette.  Have fun!”

Bette laughed.

Bette:  “Thanks.”

Bette heard Xavier asking if Paige’s son was there as the door was closing and if he would teach him to skateboard.  She cringed at the thought as she went back to her bedroom to finish getting dressed.

Stevie was at the door promptly at 8.  Bette walked out the bedroom and realized she was standing at the back door.  She opened it and a duel gasp was let out into the nigh air.  Stevie gasped because as the door opened a slight breeze blew threw Bette’s straightened hair and the flowing dress that Stevie had gotten her.  She looked like a goddess descending from Mt. Olympus, in Stevie’s eyes anyway.  Bette gasped because of Stevie’s appearance period.  Stevie had been in work garb for so long trying to get her studio together.  They had stopped going out some time ago so Bette hadn’t seen Stevie with her stylish clothing, super trendy hair cut and flawless make up job in a while.  It was good to see her the way she fell in love with her once more.  They both wore goofy grins on their faces as they gawked at each other.

Stevie/Bette:  “You look…”

They laughed in unison at the fact that they were both speaking at once.

Stevie:  “You go ‘head.”

Bette:  “I was just going to say you look amazing.”

Stevie:  “And I was going to say you look beautiful.”

They blushed in unison as still stood at the door.

Bette:  “Soo…”

Stevie:  “Oh! Right sorry.  I got lost there for a moment.”

She held out her arm.

Stevie:  “Shall we?”

Bette:  “Let’s.”

They left Bette’s back yard and quickly found themselves in Shane’s.

Stevie:  “We’re here.”

Bette:  “This is it?”

Stevie wore a gigantic smile.

Stevie:  “Yep.”

Bette could see she was clearly very excited and it seemed to be contagious.
