Babes, Blondes, and Bullets!(The B Word) Prologue

    Babes, Blondes and Bullets”

    A.K.A.: The B Word

    ~ PROLOGUE~

You can be such a ***** sometimes!” Tina Kennard yelled, slamming her bedroom door.

And you’re just so damned selfish, it’s unbelievable!” Bette Porter called back, opening the closed door that Tina already had shut. Towering over her, she was dark skinned and well toned, wearing her prada suit, looking positively chic, in which Tina admired that about her every day. But not now, now she glared at her lover for 7 years, unmoved, hating everything about her.
” I’M SELFISH?I quit my job to have a baby with you, I cook and clean for you, I go to all these presentations, exhibits and everything with you! Bette, I’m not the one who’s selfish!”
The two just glared at each other, neither one breaking eye contact, neither one surrendered, until finally Tina broke eye contact, she hung her head, eyes welling up with tears.

You want me to control my life around you, and I can’t.” she held up her commitment ring in eye level at Bette. Im your wife! Doesn’t that mean anything to you?”

” yeah, but I wish you could act like it once in a while and not sticking your tongue down other women’s throats!” she spat.
“What the ***** was that supposed to mean? Nadia Meirtschint was drunk, I told you! God, why can’t you just drop this?”
Tears flowing freely from her eyes, as she moved out of the way, but Bette stopped her, moving in front of her, not letting her leave.
Just-Just get away from me! I don’t wanna see you!” She sobbed, blowing past Bette very quickly.

Bette stared at the room for a couple minutes, seething, but suddenly she softened as she spotted a wedding picture of her and Tina on the bedside table. She picked it up and sighed, realizing she lost her temper…again. The past few weeks of working at the C.A.C. and getting ready for the new Provocations exhibit were causing her a great deal of stress. She needed a good stress releaser and what better way to ease it by going off on the woman she loved more than anything. She felt immediately sorry and regretted that those words that had ever left her mouth.

“Tina?” she called out, exiting the bedroom, looking around to see no sign of Tina. I didn’t hear the door slam shut, I wonder if she left to cool off? Turning around the corner she saw it, the sliding door was open leading to the pool. Bette bolted into the pool room.

    …

Tina sobbed uncontrollably as she opened the sliding door to the pool. All she could think about was how furious she was at Bette at the moment. God, I hate her! I ***** hate her! Lost in her thoughts, and not looking where she was going, she accidentally tripped on a small cement patio block, landing smack on the pavement and knocking her head hard against the edge of the pool falling deep into the poolwhere slipped instantly out of unconscious.
