Chapter 2

“Phew! Finally the last box is unpacked and out of the house!” Alice exclaimed as she plopped down heavily onto the couch in Tina’s new living room.

“Yeah man, Tina you sure have a lot of stuff. I never thought we were gonna get everything settled not at least for a few years! Are you sure you don’t have anymore stuff hidden somewhere that we should look at?” Shane teased.

“Guys…please.” Tina blushed as everyone burst out laughing.

They had all gathered at Tina’s new apartment to help her with setting up her house as the movers brought in all the boxes. The furniture had also arrived the day before thus completing the ensemble and now with everything in its right place it finally felt like a home. It was not a small apartment by any means but all the personal touches and the wide variety of memorabilia gave it a nice warm cozy feeling.

They were all sitting around the small stonewall fireplace with a small fire burning as they all relaxed after the tiring day they all had unpacking. Tina let out a happy sigh as she glanced around her friends Alice, Shane and Dana eating and talking and just having a good time.

Well Alice was the one talking the most obviously. She was the designated chatterbox, the life of a party anywhere really. Shane was just grunting out responses to Alice’s nosey inquisitions and poor sweet Dana was trying to keep up with Alice’s 1000 words per minute. Tina chuckled softly at the crazy group of friends she had. She had missed them all so much while she was away at school and she wouldn’t trade them for anything. They were the best friends that she had ever had and she considered them her family.

But still something was missing and she knew what it was or rather who it was. She was missing her beloved sweetheart. Her beautiful Bette couldn’t make it today as she had some important prior work plans she couldn’t get out of. Oh well at least it was good seeing her at last after all this time apart right Tina. Now its time to make up for all the lost time girl, Tina mused to herself.
