    Getting ready for the “First Date”

    Tina: smiling Its been a while. Will you do me a favor?

    Bette: name it

    Tina: Just dont leave me alone tonight.

    Bette: Oh dont worry I have a good feeling its going to be a wonderful night. And I promise not to leave you alone. There are a lot of wolves out there, but Ill protect you.

    Bette convinced Tina to let her pick her up so they would have only one car for the evening. They agreed on a time and everything was set.

    Tina and Jess say their goodbyes and are on their way home.

    Jess: Mom where are you going tonight

    Tina: Out to dinner with Bette.

    Jess just site quietly in her seat I wonder if she knows Bette is ***** ***** she doesnt even know that I am so how would she pick it up in Bette Should I even tell her? She wouldnt believe me anywaybesides she might ask me how I know and I dont want to go into that TALK yet.

    Tina: Jess are you OK with me going out?

    Jess: yeah sure mom. What if dad calls?

    Tina: Jess your father hasnt called to speak to me in months, why should he pick tonight to call me?

    Jess: Well I was going to call him and ask him to come to my opening

    Tina: You can baby, in fact I want you too

    Jess: What if he wants to talk to you?

    Tina: Just tell him I went out to dinner. And nothing else. You understand. I actually like the idea if he thinks I have a date.

    Jess: So you dont think you guys will ever get back together again

    Tina: Jess it takes 2 people to make a commitment to each other. And right now I think its about time I did something for myself. Youre old enough to take care of yourself and besides your girl friend is over every night so you will have company.

    Jess: I know mom. And youre right its about time you get out and have fun. Who knows Bette might be the best thing for you.
