Bette didn’t know which way to turn… so many people were talking at once… all praising her for her work… Curators wanted to know how she first pulled off signing Patrick… and now she also has “4LizzyBet"…
A familiar voice was heard through the crowd…
Dori: Well Bette… I am also offering my congrats… talk about pulling a ACE out of the hole… I think I speak for all of us… well done… and when is that show… we want tickets…
Bette: Thank you all… but I have my secrets… and you will all have to wait…
Helena pulled her mother to the side…
Helena: Mother… tell me who is this artist everyone is talking about…
Peggy: she was just getting started about 15, 18 years ago… and as fast as she started, she fell off the face of the earth… very few had the privilege of owning one of her works… I have never seen any of her work… just in books…
Helena: it’s funny it shows up here… this piece is Patrick’s, from his personal collection… it’s not for sale…
Peggy: where there is one… there is more… at least I hope there is…
James walked up to Bette and told her it was time to give her closing speech… and Bette was never so glad to hear those words… as she walked away from the crowd that was looking or trying to get a peek at this painting…
Bette: Tina… WTF just happened here…
Tina: Bette… I was there for it all and I have no clue… but tomorrow should be interesting… very interesting…
Bette: you don’t suppose… hell you thought it was her…
Tina: like I said… tomorrow will be very interesting…
Bette went up to the podium… Patrick also met her there…
Patrick: that was unreal…
Bette: you’re telling me… and this from the person who knows all of the answers… hey… my house early tomorrow morning… bring bagels too… we’ll have the coffee ready… or should I say the bar will be open…
Patrick: coffee will be enough… remember Bette… trust me…
Bette: that’s all I got right now… you’re also lucky I like you…
They both just smiled at each other and James handed Bette the Mic…
Bette: Ladies and gentlemen… Please if I may have your attention for a few more minutes… We, the staff at the CAC want to thank you all coming here tonight… it’s been a night to remember… Patrick… its been a pleasure working with you these last few months and we all will enjoy the next 5 weeks having you and your Life’s work here…
A voice from the audience… Bette when we can we expect "4LizzieBet’s" work to be on display…
Bette: like I said to a few minutes before… I have my secrets… you will all have to watch and wait for any announcements…
Same voice: So you are saying you have her signed and we will see her work soon…
Bette: I’m not saying anything… but an artist of "4LizzieBet”s" caliber… she is right up there with Patrick… and ladies and gentleman… please enjoy Patrick’s work while its here… we all no how artistes can be… (laughter)…
Patrick: ah yes… we tend be a pain in the ass… (More laughter)… but that pain can also come from a full wallet…
Bette: very true… once again Patrick… it has been a pleasure…
Everyone please enjoy the rest of your night…
Bette and Patrick embrace and the applause continues…
