Can Love Conquer All? Chapter 2


Once Tina shut the door to her past as she felt it was, she start walking towards her car, The scream that Bette let out before Tina walked out, made a wave of even more pain into Tinas heart, as she walked down the steps, there it began, a stream of tears running down her face once again. The kind of cry that made you feel like you couldnt breath and made your chest tighten up and literally made your heart throb with pain. A pain, only someone that has ever had their heart broken by a person they loved with everything they had to offer, could understand. Once Tina got in to her car she sped out from the drive way and was headed to Alices, Alice was the only one Tina thought she could go to. Shane was occupied with her Hollywood wife drama and Dana had Tonya. But those were not the reasons why Tina considered to go to Alice. She always felt closer to Alice. The relationship between Alice and Bette in the past didnt bother Tina. When Tina had to talk to someone about Bette it was Alice. Alice knew Bette probably the best out of the group even more so then Kit. Bette was a complicated person to understand but Alice could always figure her out. So considering that Tina needed a lot of help with this situation, she needed Alice.

Once Tina pulled in front of Alices apartment complex she debated if she should go in or not. She finally decided that she needed some comfort and needed to talk to someone and fast. Tina got out of her car, her legs were hardly functional as her body felt so heavy as if she couldnt even walk. Tina got all the way to Alices front door and knock lightly, after a few seconds without a answer, she knocked again with more force. Again no answer. Tina thought to herself Damnit! She must still be out with Shane or something. Tina started to walk back down the stairs when she pulled her keys out of her pocket and looked them over she noticed Alices house key, the key Alice gave her incase of an emergency. With out even thinking. Tina opened Alices apartment door and was walking through the darkness and sat on the sofa. Surrounded with darkness and pain filling her heart, Tina sat there going over everything that happened in this one night. How could someone lose so much in a mare few hours? The trust she had for Bette was gone and for one moment she lost the love she had for her unfaithful wife. That moment was when Tina lost control and slapped Bette in the face, But no matter how mad or hurt she felt from Bettes infidelity, she could never stop loving her. Tina could never stop loving Bette Porter for anything in the world. Even though Tina still had the love, What was it good for if she didnt have the trust? Tina felt like the darkness and emptiness was swallowing her as she cried in to Alices sofa.

The Morning After Provocations at the Porter/Kennard residence

Around 9:00 am. Kit was just passing by Bette and Tinas when she noticed that Bettes Car was still in the drive way. Kit thought to her self She hasnt left for work yet? Thinking that it wasnt like Bette to be home around this time, when she had so much to do at the CAC. Kit also wanted to talk to Bette about Ivan and what HE did the night of the opening of provocations. Kit turned around and pulled her bike in to the front yard and parked it right next to the front steps. When Kit got to the front door to knock she had a feeling that something was wrong. Kit rang the doorbell. The was no answer. Kit rang the door bell once more, still no answer. Turning around to walk down the steps to leave, thinking that maybe no one was home or they were sleeping. Kit heard someone crying. It was a faint cry but Kit still heard it from outside the house. At that point, Kit figure that something indeed was wrong, so she got her spare key out of her purse.

When Kit entered the house. She began to look around the house. Something wasnt right and Kt felt it in her bones. Walking down the hallway she heard the faint cry get a little louder .

Kit: Bette. Kit called out lightly, there was no answer Tina. still no answer

The crying lead Kit right to the bathroom. The door was closed. As she leaned into the door to listen, she heard the shower running and a faint sound of sniffling. Hesitating at first Kit knocked on the door.

Kit: Bette are you in there? as she opened the bathroom door, only to notice her baby sister sitting on the bathroom floor with her knees to her chest and face buried into her arms.

As soon as Bette realized that it was her sisters voice she heard coming from the doorway , she lifted her head to look up at Kit. Kit was taken back when she saw Bettes bruised and tear streaked face look at her.

Kit: Bette what happened who did this to you. Where is Tina? as she ran to Bette and kneeled down beside her. Kit was so overwhelmed, she just ambushed Bette with so many questions.

Bette: Now crying uncontrollably Why did I do it why? I lost her. How could I..

Kit now sitting on the floor holding Bette in her arms. Trying to understand what Bette was saying.

Kit: Bette what are you talking about? Why did you do what? Lost who? holding Bettes face in her hands and rubbing her finger over Bette bruised cheek Who did this to you?

Once Bette could speak a little clearer , Bette leaned in to Kits embrace and started to confess.

Bette: Kit. I dont know how I got so . Tangled

Kit: What is it sweetie, what do you mean?

Bette: Taking a few swallows and trying to hold back more of her tears before she said it. I cheated on Tina.. God I am so ashamed of myself.

Kit move her body back to look directly in to Bette face

Kit: What? not knowing what to say next

Bette: She left me Kit. Tina left me last night.

Kit: Bette! how could you? Especially to Tina. God knows how much she loves you. Why? Why would you so such a thing?

Bettes pulled away from Kit and leaned back against the wall and start sobbing into her hands once more.

Bette: I dont know. How could things go so wrong I had so much on my mind and in my heart.. I love Tina.. She is my everything .. You know that, everyone knows that. I dont know. Candace was just there and she pursed me and I dont know I got weak. DAMNIT! Bette yelled. Why was I so weak!

Bette was so upset that she started to pull at the front of her hair and forcing her palms to pound against her forehead

Bette: How could I lose everything.. I ever wanted.. Why would I put that in jeopardy?

Kit: Candace? Are you talking about that chick that was working with you at the CAC?

Bette: Yes. But Kit I dont want her..I want my T.. I need my Tina..without her I dont know what Ill doI am so afraid that she will never talk or look at me again. What am I going to do Kit. Bette sobbing began again.

Kit: Where is Tina? Is that her handy work? Pointing out once again, Bettes bruised face.

Bette: sniffling and wiping the tears from her face and rubbing her bruised cheek. We got into a fight last night, When we got back from the opening, she slapped me and then

Kit: Then what?

Bette remembering the way she forced herself on Tina and ripped her dress. A desperate act to try to reconnect in any way possible.

Bette: The things Ive done are way too shameful.

Kit: Alright dont tell me then I dont think I can take anymore. Do you know where she went? I hope she is alright and some place safe. She has to feel worst then you do Bette.

Bette: Kit I need to find her. I needed to talk to her. I dont want to lose her. She is the only one I want. Please. I need her.

Kit felt the pain her sister was feeling when she looked into her eyes. It even made Kit tear up, seeing her little sister pled for her help. Kit was now determined to find where Tina was and to see if she was alright. After seeing how bad Bette was hurting, she couldnt imagine how Tina was dealing with things. Kit just felt so bad that her baby sister did this to Tina. It wasnt right for Bette to be unfaithful, but she needed to help her sister, she had to be there for her now. Kit knew that these two women belonged together and the intensity of there love for each other could over come all. Thats if Tina still had as much love for Bette as Bette had for Tina.

Kit stood up from Bettes side, turned off the shower and walked down the hallway to the phone She began to call the usual suspects, if she knew Tina, Tina would go to her friends before anyone else. Kit dialed Alices number first.
