Collision Course 4.61
Bette could hear the water running, but she didn’t move at first. Angelica had a habit of going to the bathroom at the break of dawn, washing her hands but forgetting to turn off the faucet in her drowsiness. It was one of her, as Jo might put it, quirks. Albeit genetic or not, Angelica seemed to sleep through everything when the sun wasn’t up. They’d had a wonderful evening of watching cartoons and drawing on scraps of paper the evening before, but Bette kept looking to the door to see if Jo would miraculously walk through it. Bette could still smell the residue of crayon wax on her fingers as her rubbed her nose. Those were the moments that she so lived for in her life now, that and moments of heavenly bliss with Jo who seemed to be able to free her so easily, with just a smile or a gentle touch. Bette was totally disarmed when around Jo and she’d do just about anything to make sure that those moments continued.
Wearing a baggy shirt that was Jo’s, with a worn out emblem of the X-Men on it, Bette turned in bed, her hair cascading in a dark halo around her head. Letting her ebony eyes creep open, focusing on the side of the bed that Jo should have been on. Instead, there was a single red rose propped on the pillow. Her eyes widened, and then a smile appeared, hitching her self up on one elbow, and reaching over to the rose. Taking it, putting the fully bloomed flower to her nose and inhaling, the sweet scents made her close her eyes and linger there. Then, noticing that there was a slip of green paper, with Jo’s chicken scratch handwriting under where the rose had lain.

Surprised by the turn of events
Relishing in the soft ache for you

As the crimson sun crests my world
Turning my hallowed night to golden day
Shadows of doubt
Dance haphazardly through my mind
Convincing me my heart is no longer mine
And my eternal night
Has turned to day

I love Tina and Quin together, but I won’t take it for granted that is the direction you are going in, but I do hope so….I have been checking in all weekend to see if you had put a chapter up…Thanks for not disappointing!
Lets stop this make believe,I have a girl friend stuffand get these to together. Tina and Quin will be great together. Heck knew Alice couldnt keep her mouth shut. She was told not to say anything,we all know Alice. Bette and Jo are so cute together. So are Shane and Sam thanks for Posting.
Lol…Shane changing diapers…there’s a thought. Great to see Bette and Jo getting along so well. The Tina/Quin coupling is sounding good, too. Alice has such a big mouth. Hopefully, Julie doesn’t go too far to shut her up. Thanks for the update!
Alice… she just couldn’t let it lie, could she? Where’s Julie taking her? I worry about Jo getting too beat up, being not-fully-human had its advantages… but maybe it’ll make her more careful? But that’s a heck of a pummeling she’s taking. Bette’ll just have to soothe the aches best she can, I suppose… I think Quin’s getting a heck of a lot more than she bargained for. Can’t wait to see what Tina does next. I like what Sam’s doing, helping Shane taking a step in the right direction. Great update, Janet, thanks!
Janet, I don’t usual find Tina interesting but I can’t wait to find out what is going to happen you are making her interesting. I say write what inspires you and drop the rest until you are inspired again, even if it is S&S or C&L. Take care

Let’s see if Tina can break Quin out of her shell. Becs isn’t dumb so it should be fun to watch them convince her that they’re for real. I’m glad Jo thinks its great to be human again but she seems to bruise too easily. Carmen & Lara still cute together. Hopefully Shane will start relaxing around Shay now that she realizes things could have been a lot worse. Well as for Alice, her mouth finally done her in, Julie has no choice but to fry her brain. Luv the update.
