Destiny (Final)
Tina walked down the hall towards the bedroom holding a cup of tea. She walked into the room and to her bed where Bette was sitting with her knees pulled to her chest and her head resting on them as she sobbed.
Tina sighed and handed her the tea. Bette took it quietly and took a sip. Tina solemnly looked over to the bed across the room where Alice was curled in the fetal position, her body, though heavily bandaged from the accident, was wracking with heartwrenching sobs.
"Alice," Tina said standing up.
"Helena," Alice whimpered, "she knew this would happen. She told me, but I wouldn’t listen."
Tina sat back down with a sigh, "I can’t believe she’s gone."
Bette started sobbing again and leaned on Tina’s shoulder. The loss of her best friend was even worse than Bette ever thought possible. They had been solidary with each other for more than 15 years. They were always side by side.
"Shh baby," Tina said caressing Bette’s face.
"Oh Tina," Bette said hugging her tightly, "there was nothing anyone could do for Helena. Destiny cannot be changed."
Tina held Bette close as she broke into hard sobs and the bedroom door opened. Peggy walked in with red rimmed eyes and immediately moved to Alice. Bette and Tina watched her. "Tell me it’s not true," Peggy said unable to contain her sobs, "please tell me my daughter isn’t dead!"
"I-I can’t," Alice sobbed.
Peggy dropped onto the bed her body wracking with hard sobs. Alice turned around and pulled Peggy into a tight hug, then together, they sobbed.

1 year later:
Bette and Tina were standing at the top of the hill they had climbed on the last day of Helena’s life. Tina bent down and placed a batch of beautiful lilies on top of Helena’s grave then stood up to hug Bette who had not stopped crying. Bette had honored Helena in everyway possible but after a year of living without her best friend she knew she could never fill that void again.
Tina had been her constant support, the one that kept her going. If it weren’t for Tina, Bette wouldn’t have survived. They turned around when they heard the grass crunching under other pairs of feet. Alice walked up hand in hand with her new girlfriend Dana. Alice had kept herself shelled away for three months straight and Peggy Peabody herself had to drag her out and made her keep living her life. A month later she met Dana Fairbanks and her heart filled with hope. Sure Dana was intimidated at first to try to fill in the shoes of the never forgotten dead ex-girlfriend, but the brunette couldn’t help but fall in love with the grief-ridden blonde.
