Destiny in a Mechaincs shop (Pt 16) WTF?!?
Tina woke to the sound of her doorbell ringing. She sloppily got out of bed, and turned to look at her side table clock, which read 8:00. “Who the ***** would be visiting at this hour?” Tina questioned herself. She grabbed her robe and walked unsteadily to the door. She tried to be as quick as she could with all the locks, to finally open the door to a bouquet of roses and iris.
“Can I help you?” Tina attempting to stand on the tips of her toes, to try and see who it was behind the bouquet.
“Yeah you can take these.” Said a gruph voice.
Tina took the flowers and placed them in the kitchen for the moment.
“I’m assuming youre a Ms Kennard?” The short, gruph man asked as he gave his signature paper to Tina.
“You assume correctly.” She replied while signing the paper.
The man turned and started to walk off, He stopped for a moment and cursed himself before turning back around.
“Oh yeah lady, have a nice day.” He then turned back around, walking back down the corridor.
Tina closed the door and ran into the kitchen, excitingly questioning who the flowers were from. Before she got to the card, she placed the flowers in a big Italian style vase, then placing them in the living room. After she found the card, she sat on the couch and slowly opened it up.
It read:
“Your essence is sweet, your heart is pure. I was a fool to let you go and I want you back in my life.”
‘WTF…?!?” Tina was utterly confused…She hadn’t been dating anyone and she hadn’t seen her friends in months due to her workload. This was the first day off she had, had in months. ‘Who would be sending me flowers like this?” Tina got up from the couch and paced the room, wracking her brain for some sort of solution to who would be sending her flowers.
Again the doorbell rang… Tina placed the card on the kitchen counter before proceeding back to the place she was five minutes ago… She looked through the peephole, yet she couldn’t see anyone.
As if like da-ja-vu Tina began to unlock everything, before opening the door. After seeing no one, she looked down to the ground, to find a rather large package leaning on the wall opposite Tina’s door. She picked it up and took it inside, shutting the door with her foot.
Tina slowly opened the delicate package, finally revealing a box. The box being a square metre in length and width confused Tina.
Again her head repeated “WTF…?!?” Gliding her hand across the brown box, Tina suddenly became intrigued, when she found a note attached to the mysterious box.
‘Lets start over… This is for you, if you dont like it, I’ll give you something different.’
Tina place the box on the kitchen table, then proceeded to the kitchen to grab a knife to slice the sticky tape.
Carefully slicing the sticky tape, Tina opened the box to find bubble wrap beaming at her and yet again another note.
‘Careful the content of this box is fragile.’
Tina gently lifted the square object out of its container, placing it on the table. After taking a deep breath, Tina gently unwrapped the object.
It was magnificent, better then magnificent, it was perfect. Creative, magical and enticing all in one. The square object that sat before her was a photograph… A black and white original.
Tina stared in awe. The picture captured so much, yet it hid so many secrets. Tina picked the picture up to inspect it more closely.
The picture depicted the partial outline of a womans shadowy naked midriff. The woman held a simple rose in her hands.
Tears started to form in Tina’s eyes. She had never seen something as beautiful as this. The closest that she came to real art, was the paintings that sat proudly in the courtrooms of past judges.
Tina glided her fingers appreciatively over the framed picture. Taking in every detail, every curve and crevasse.
Her mind started to wander back to Earth as she again questioned where these presents came from. She looked in the box to find one last note
‘Look out of your lounge room window.’
Tina did what was instructed. She placed the frame picture back in its box on the kitchen table and then walked over to the window. Moving the curtains aside she saw Bette kneeling on the grass. Wearing her ripped grease stained jeans and her leather jacket. Her hands positioned up toward Tina.
“Tina Kennard can you ever forgive me?” Bette shouted.
Tina blushed at Bette. Looking quickly at her hands then back at Bette.
“It’ll cost ya.” She replied.
Bette got up from her knees, never taking her eyes off of her beautiful Juliet. “And what would that be?”
“Dinner” was all that came in reply.
