Feeling safe and wanted again – Chapter 35

    Chapter ThirtyFive

Three months later and Tina had secured a job at Focus Features in New York, she was ecstatic beyond belief and so happy. Bette was equally happy for Tina.

They had both been over to New York and scooped out an apartment. Bette had put her apartment up for sale and it had gone relatively fast and with a nice earning. And with the money from the house in Chapel Hill, they managed to get a nice 3 bedroom apartment with a great view and one they didn’t have to do any renovating with. It was in great condition. The previous owners were to move out in three weeks, so the date for the move was closing in. Bette had moved out of her apartment and moved in with Tina so the new owners of Bette’s apartment could move right in.

Bette had applied for a job on the New York CSI team and with her credentials and resumes and letters of recommendations, they were lucky to have her. She starts her new job there in 4 weeks.

A kindergarten spot was also secured for Evan, so everything went accordingly to plan.

The Nashville Police was having another hard case. It seems that a serial killer is emerging and Bette and her partner and the department are working non-stop on it. Which results in not seeing Tina and Evan for 5 days, the few hours she sleeps she does on her couch in her office.

They all feel like they are closing in on the killer, who has killed 5 people so far in 5 days. It’s one of the worst cases Bette has ever worked on. The victims are all kids between the age of 10 and 15. That makes the case difficult and heartbreaking, but also makes everyone determined to get the bastard.

As Bette walks into her office to lay down for an hour, she calls Tina, it’s late at night, but she just need to hear Tina’s voice, they haven’t talked for three days only texted to each other.

Tina picks up after the third ring.

    “Hello?” She answers groggily.

“Oh, did I wake you? I’m sorry” Bette says tiredly.

“Bette, I’ve missed you. You woke me, but I don’t care. How are you holding up?” Tina asks.

    1. Gosh no, not Bette, not now, hopefully it is not a serious wound, tell me she did have her vest on. She and Tina don’t need this now that their move is imminent. Maybe this will get her out of law enforcement and into being a gallery owner. No more dangerous stuff with criminals, just dangerous women that she knows how to fend off. Great update. Thanks for posting.

    2. Hey Lauren25, Bette and Tina have truly committed to each other now so you can’t have Bette dying in the line of duty. What a cliffie. I really can’t wait to read how this all plays out. More please and real soon. Many thanks from Your Loyal Fan.

    3. Master of the twist that you are, good thing they have their vests on; a good leader leads by example. Don’t want her “down” for long now that she is happy. Macrabre twist
