For the next two weeks, Dana and Lara would be in Europe on their honeymoon and asked Bette and Tina to watch Bex for them. They always welcomed the opportunity to watch her and practice their parenting skills. Bexie liked to spend time with her Aunt B and Aunt Tee at their pool. For Bette, it was the perfect opportunity to care for Bex, as she didn’t have a job to go to and her stress level would be way down.

“Would you like to paint with Aunt B,” Bette asked Bex one morning.

“Paint,” Bex shouted and clapped her hands. Bette took her out to the backyard and set up the non-toxic paints she had bought her. Once she got Bex started, she set up her own paints and canvas and started to work. She got lost in the colors that were spilling off her brush. Keeping a watchful eye on Bex, she took the time to let her creative juices flow. She had forgotten how amazing and peaceful painting was. She rediscovered the reason why she had gotten into art in the first place. She looked down at Bex who was covered in paint; Bex looked up at her and smiled.

“Tee, you were right,” Bette exclaimed into the phone, preparing the bath for Bex.

“I was right about what?”

“My painting! Ugh, I just had the best time letting the energy flow through my body and onto the canvas. Painting today made me realize why I had gotten into art; it was as if I had never forgotten.”

“That’s great babe, I’m glad you’re making the best of this situation. Maybe when I take my leave I will pick up photography again.”

“You should Tee, it’s so amazing,” Bette said, putting Bex in the water.

“Are you still thinking about opening The Bette Porter Art Gallery west?”

“Yeah, I should be hearing from Helena sometime soon,” Bette said tentatively.

“Babe, what’s the matter?”

“I don’t know, I’m still a little bit unsure of trusting Helena with this huge investment. I have kind of a sketchy feeling about it.”

“Baby, she just wants to help.”

“I mean I crunched the numbers with Joyce and our accountant and they feel that I can successfully open a small gallery on my own,” she said, washing the paint off Bex.
