    B&T Beginning – Chapter 5

    “Hey, Bette.  Are you free next Sunday after church?” said Tim sitting down on his desk. 

     

    “I’m not sure, why?” asked Bette without looking up at Tim, She had been flipping through Terry’s files for a few hours now, trying to figure out why Terry wanted to see her.   “Hey Tim, Do you know why Terry wanted to see me?” asked Bette curiously.

     

    Tim shook his head “I don’t know, but he said something about the case that you handled long time ago.”

     

    Suddenly Bette has a bad feeling about all this.

     

    “Bette, can you come by after church next Sunday?” Tim asked again hoping to get an answer from Bette.  He and Molly had been planning on hooking Bette up with Molly’s friend. 

     

    “I want you to meet someone.  She’s a friend of Molly’s.  She just moved in here a couple of years ago.  Molly said you’re going to love her.  She’s sweet, charming and very beautiful.”  Tim knows this is a very sensitive subject for Bette. He is sad to see that Bette has been living alone for 7 years. All of her friends think that it’s time for Bette to move on.

     

    “I don’t know Tim, but I’ll think about it ok.”  Bette stood up with Terry’s files in her hand and walked past the corridor to talk to Terry, to see what he wants from her.

    “Mommy” Angelica screamed, running toward Bette.  She bent down to catch Angelica into her arms.

     

    “You sure are glad to see me, Angel.” Bette laughed holding on tight to her daughter.

     

    “Yes Mommy, I had a great time today and Ms. Tina gave me some cookies.”

     

    “She did?”

     

    Angelica nodded.

     

    “What else did you guys do today?” asked Bette with a big smile on her face trying to watch Tina approach without being too obvious.

     

    “Hi. Bette.” Tina greeted approaching them with a sly smile on her face.

     

    Listening to the sound of her voice, Bette turned to face her.  They were standing so close this time and again she felt that warm feeling inside of her like a pleasant surprise.  She hasn’t felt this way after Julie died.  She can smell Tina’s perfume from where she stands.  It smells so good.  This time she was wearing a pair of long blue pants and cream color blouse.  Nothing fancy just simple and nice, but when she smiled, she took her breath away.  She again felt the same strange wonderful fluttering feeling just like the first time when they had met.

    4. Good chapter. Tina and Angie are cute. Good to know Tina have a feeling for Bette, and hope Bette will coming to the BBQ. Is Terry know who kill Bette’s wife and this is why he want Bette to get him out. This is so good and Im hooked and please post soon, thanks!

    5. terry knows who killed julie, maybe it was him and someone else made him do it…and it’s so funny that tina is interested in bette and tima/molly wants to hook them up but bette doesn’t know

    7. Hey Searchlight, I have just caught up with this tender adn touching tale. Why do I have the niggling feeling that Terry knows something about Julie’s accident. I am just loving the relationship between Bette and Angelica. Dreamy. And now that Tina is around I do hope our deputy sheriff will make some time for her and the beginning of a beautiful romance will ensue. There is a real sense of love and admiration in this story. Thank you so much for continuing it. A Fan.

    8. My first thought here was Terry was the drunk driver. Angelica is a cutie. =) Hopefully she’ll like the idea of B&T becoming a couple.

    9. Hmmm are you gonna have it where somehow Tina was the driver? Not drunk but she accidently hit her and Bette finds out after they have fallen for each other? My imagination is hyper active this morning …but I love this story.
