    Great Unexpectations Chapter 26

    Previously…

It wasn’t until the second van passed that Bette realized her shirt was still open, buttons unfastened. She clutched at her blouse and pulled it closed as Tina continued to giggle. Bette became slightly annoyed with the hilarity that Tina found in this situation. "This is embarrassing for you too, Tina!", she scolded. Tina tried to behave and stifle her laughter, but as soon as the final van passed it revealed the large wooden sign again. Just reading those words sent Tina into fits of laughter.

Bette rolled her eyes and pulled a quick u-turn to leave the property as quickly as humanly possible. Getting as much distance between them and that sign was priority one. After a few minutes of silence, silence punctuated only by Tina’s intermittent giggles, Bette began to grin. She finally spoke. "Well, Tina. If there was any doubt about it before, there shouldn’t be now. We are definitely going to burn in hell."

The gate was lifted and Tina could no longer contain her laughter. Bette could not help but join in. "Ok. Let’s go home, T."

    Chapter 26.

The following days were filled with the usual things. Going to work, picking up the dry cleaning, paying the bills. The days were also filled with some not so usual things as well. The Saab was checked out. No major damage. Mostly cosmetic. Expensive, but cosmetic. The meeting with Faye’s lawyer went rather smoothly. Mr. Jenkins’ disposition proved itself to be utterly invariable. He dryly shoved papers in front of Bette and Tina as they sat before him at his expansive mahogany desk. "I assume you’ve had sufficient time to look these over with your own attorney." His manner of speaking suggested not only boredom but also annoyance. Tina nodded quietly and looked to Faye for assurance while Bette made her signatures and initials on the appropriately flagged items. Faye smiled at Tina and even managed a wink. The wink put Tina at ease, having taken it as an unspoken agreement that this man was absolutely insufferable. Bette slid the papers over to Tina and watched as her lovely blonde signed her own name next to Bette’s. The sight of their names together on any document filled Bette with an immeasurable sense of pride, be it on a joint checking account or the electric bill. Or on this transfer of ownership of a significantly funded trust.

    1. I really enjoyed the visitation too. Angie mimicking Mama B was, needless to say, impossibly cute. I hope you’re spared the gov’t shutdown, but if it happens at least there’s a silver lining for your faithful readers.

    2. what is all that whining about Red? The chapter was great and, as you predicted, I loved the Alice/Dana bit. so now you’ve set the table here, time to serve the meal and get everyone trashed! We’ll be waiting…PPS

    3. What a lovely Sunday night treat, red. Loved the chapter… Alice/Dana and Bette/Angie…too cute. I only wish the show was written as cleverly as your fanfic. It’s hard reading about what was done to Cora at the hands of her father. He needs to be fed his own testicles. Sorry to hear of your possible lay-off. Will keep good thoughts for you.

    4. I’m glad B&T realize how lucky they are and are going to do thing thing to help Faye with the full support of their family. Ah, Dana… Al definitely made the right choice. And Angie is too cute! Thanks for the chapter, red. (And I hope everything stays okay for you job-wise.)

    5. Another great chapter. It had so much good stuff–the framily is back, B&T great interactions, AND (ruffles and flourishes) Angelica!!!! The cutest baby evah.

    6. I keep falling many days behind. Not sure what is happening but always behind. First of all I love the dialog between Faye and B&T. Too bad it all started off the way that it did. The extended family will be good to work with to help find Cora. I miss Dana and wish that she would continue to visit Alice.

    7. great chapter Red. the baby imitating Bette was priceless, they love each other so much it isjust wonderful to see the little family togerther. Happy to see that the extended family will help in whatever way necessary. Hopefully they can find Cora before Faye succumbs to the disease and they can say goodbye and let Faye tell her daughter how sorry that nothing was done and that she could not help it. this is some story Red. Post when you can. Don’t worry about the sumaries Red, they wil take care of themselves.
