Great Unexpectations Chapter 29
Previously…
Once hidden behind tinted windows they held each other and let their tears flow. The car moved down the street and on it’s way to the awaiting private jet.
Many minutes later, after they’d relieved themselves of many tears, a thought occurred to Bette. "You know, T. Angie is just… incredible. Both of her mama’s just walked out the door. She wasn’t afraid or sad. Just happy. A happy child. She was much more together than we were."
"I know", Tina agreed slowly, with a smile. "Would it have killed her to cry a little?" They looked at each other and began to laugh softly as the road sped along swiftly underneath them.
Chapter 29
Soaring above the clouds at twenty-thousand feet, Tina leaned into Bette’s arm, courting sleep. Faye snuck glances of admiration at the lovers . She appreciated the way Tina’s head fit cozily into the crook of Bette’s neck. The way that Bette held her close, her arm slipped comfortably behind Tina’s back. The way that Tina smiled while sleeping, feeling safe in her partners grasp. The way that Bette’s smile matched Tina’s.
Watching the two made her think back on her own life. On her time with that sorry excuse for a husband. She searched her memory for any hint of the tenderness being demonstrated before her. Surely there must have been something in the beginning. He must have caressed her cheek, brushed the hair out of her eyes. Something. Something to convince her that he was her life mate. After twenty minutes of a fruitless search she surrendered, convincing herself that of course there were sweet, precious moments in the beginning. There must have been. It was simply that years of battery erased them permanently from her memory.
Richard was busy on his laptop studying the street maps of Chicago and surrounding areas he’d downloaded earlier that day. This was part of the usual routine. Studying. Memorizing. Getting to know them by heart before even landing on the ground. Not only street maps, but also certain points of interest. Those being primarily the red-light districts. Any area where drug deals and prostitution were common. Where flea-bag motels littered the neighborhood as heavily as crumpled newspapers littered the sidewalks.

I won’t worry about Richard messing with Tina now that he’s received the famous Porter death stare. Now on to Bette and Tina catching up on “other things” after touching base with Angie.
Another Great Chapter!!!! I so hope they find Cora very soon. B&T to be home with ther daughter. Thanks PPVS
Richad checking Tina out only to find Bette staring him down was hilarious. PPS!!
First, LMFAO@Bette’s death glare! I just knew that was coming. And second, even though it’s morbid as hell, LOL@Faye! I guess that’s one of those moments where you have to laugh at yourself because the only other option is to cry.
Tut tut, Richard. Eyes off Bette’s woman. I really hope that this lead gets them to Cora, because I fear for Faye lasting much longer. The restaurant scene… that was funny, yet not, but still… I laughed, anyway. I hope that girl waitress wasn’t too scarred by it all. Thanks for the chapter red, it was ace. And whatever you need luck for, I wish you bucket-loads of it. Post when you can. Cheers
Their love for each other and Angie is such an inspiration. They take good care of each other. I love this story. PPS.
They are close I can feel it in my bones. Or maybe that is old age or the weather turning slightly cooler. Whatever it is, there is some hope because Bette and Tina are on the case.
Good chapter. Hope they find Cora soon and B&T get home to Angie, no drama for them. Please post more, thanks! Glad to catch up with your story and love it, can’t wait to see more, thanks!
oh, me first, that never happened before. As for the story, so sweet that T&B. Md
Yes, let’s let B&T catch up on other things, shall we??? LOL PPS
Then leaving Angie was so sad for them, Angie just was with the people that loves her and didnt care. Faye and Bette are funny together Bettes death atare to Richard was priceless. thanks
Hey Redhorse, I have just caught up with your amazing adventure. I love and adore your Bette and Tina. The love they share is sooo Season 1. Yippee!!! I loved the whole redemption puzzle at the centre of this drama. This tale is unfolding perfectly as Bette and Tina continue to talk things through before committing to Faye’s requests. The mystery is enticing and I really want to get to the bottom of it and see what to whole fuss was about. Prehaps it is just a mother, realizing her faults and trying to reach out and save her child. Great to see Bette and Tina, in it together. Angelica is their main priority but their hearts are big enough to include others. Liucky for Cora though. Please continue soon. I can’t wait. Thank you so much for all the hard work and effort to bring this fabulous fan fiction to my eyes. A Fan.
