Great Unexpectations Chapter 34
Previously…
Tina checked her watch. "I should get back. Are you staying or coming?"
"I’m coming", Richard said, standing up quickly. So quickly that he startled the cyclist riding past their bench and inadvertently knocked her off her bike. "Oh shit", he said. She fell off the eighteen inch ledge that separated the path from the beach. Luckily it was a sandy landing and no major damage was done to either her or the bike but she was still upset, and able to verbalize. "Jesus Christ Man!! Walk much??"
The young cyclist gathered her bike and stood up looking at Richard and Tina. Richard and Tina stood, dumbstruck. "Cat got your tongue?", the young woman asked. If she’d had a shotgun she would have reminded Richard of the very first time he’d met this young woman’s mother. This young woman. Cora Buckley.
Chapter 34.
Cora began to grow uneasy. These strangers were looking at her as if they recognized her and she could only imagine from where. Perverts, she thought. Jesus. I can never get away from it. Looking at Richard and Tina she could easily accept that the man knew her work. But the woman? That one kind of surprised her. She didn’t look the type. She moved from uneasy to bold with the quickness of a cat. "Hey lady. Wanna tell your boyfriend to quit staring at me?", she scowled. Richard, hearing that he was about to blow it, quickly put his arm around Tina’s waist. Feeling him touch her, Tina was startled but tried to play along. "Sweetie", Tina said to Richard. "Stop staring at the young lady. It’s not polite." She poked him in the ribs with her elbow. Richard winced but kept a smile. For show. Then to Cora Tina said, "Are you okay? Are you hurt?"
Cora brushed the sand from her knees to reveal tiny abrasions that had occurred as she and the bike toppled to the sand below. It stung a bit, but she was not about to admit it. "I’m fine. It’s nothing."
Richard released Tina’s waist from his grip and stooped down to examine the bike. "It doesn’t seem to be too bad. I’m really sorry. I should’ve looked where I was uh…standing. Sorry." He tried to keep his joy in check. He couldn’t believe that after all the time he’d spent looking for her, all the time studying her picture, he was finally speaking to Faye’s daughter.

Damn Red, you always so that!!!! Stop when it gets to the good parts. I am so loving this. Thanks PPS
Ok Red, this is what we’ve been waiting for, please do not make us wait to long. Md
I’m sorry you’re bringing “Great Unexpectations” to a close, but I love how you’re going about it. The Betsy/Albert ruse was a hoot. It figures Richard would try to take advantage. Good thing Tina’s so handy with a fork.
Sorry to see this story come to an end but so happy they found her. Hopefully when she wakes, she will listen to them and take their advice, comfort and the protection they offer. This has been a very interesting story from the start, and believe me I had my doubts, as you well remember from my comments early on, that Faye was being honest and genuine. I believe I offered an apology somewhere in there for my comments but, if I did not, please accept my apologies now, I was wrong. You’ve done a wonderful job with this story. Please post soon.
I dunno what upsets me more, that this story is coming to an end or that Cora missed her mom by a few days. *sigh* I hope Cora stays, and lets them all help her. “Bet” let “Albert” off too lightly, with only a fork jab. That doesn’t matter though, once she sees to Cora, I think Bette is going to give Richard a thorough pummeling. Or at least I hope so. I take it Kit and T have something really good worked out (I have an idea what it is), I’ll be waiting to see. Great chapter, red, post when you can. Thanks!
u really had me going there. more when u can. Thx.
Hopefully Cora will forgive her Mother, and can peacefully morn her passing. Now it up to Bette and Tina to protct her from other evil thing that is lurking in the background. thanks so much for posting
shit, i’m kinda afraid to have dinner with you. stabbed in the leg? if i pass the salt instead of the peeper do i get a bread knife in the eye? another great update red but you and your damn cliffhangers. i’m curious where you’re going with this and don’t worry ladies, red is such a stickler for details that she’s got a long way to go before she can wrap all of this up. oh, she’ll threaten us and swear it’s almost the last one but it will drive her nuts to finish hap hazardly so don’t worry there is plenty of story left! lol. ok, red post when you can and you better have an even better story to tell after tonight…
Excellent update. Eagerly awaiting the next :)
They finally find her and now they have to tell her that her mother is gone. It sounds like Cora really did love her mother but was unable to live with all that had happened to her in her life. I hope that she allows Bette and Tina into her life. It would be nice to see her around the gang. I hate to see this end and I hope that you will continue to write after you have finished this story.
Brilliant, as always, red. This continues to be one of my favorite stories. Emotional as it was, this chapter also had me cracking up… Betsy and Albert, lovely couple! I wouldn’t have guessed at the onset that I would have felt sad that Faye didn’t have the opportunity to right things with her daughter. Look foward to reading Cora reaction to their story. Thanks for such a wonderful read!
This is so freaking good and we all waiting for this moment, so emotional and hope Caro will let B&T and R to help her and get her life safe. Please post more, thanks!
Great story …..still. Nice to see that there can be drama without it being between B&T.
As usual you’ve outdone yourself. However, the cliffhangers are killers. :) I am glad Cora didn’t take off before they could start to talk to her. I feel so bad for her and hope she will let them help her.
Great chapter! Tina stabbing Richard with a fork & him limping off was soooo funny. Hope B&T&R can help Cora now that they’ve found her. Thanks!
oOoO c’mon you gotta post soon, i read the whole thing in one night n now i want to know how it ends, its been awesome xx
