Switching high schools mid-semester is never an easy process but it was one that Tina Kennard was painfully familiar with. She belonged to a military family and so she was used to the frequent discussions her father initiated regarding their next relocation. Like any teen, she found it difficult sometimes to adjust to the curriculum and also to the surroundings. Generally the procedure depended on their latest settlement. Tina and her brother, Michael, had so far attended a total of 17 schools, not including where they were headed.

Bette Porter had always been well liked by both her tutors and her peers at school. She was gregarious yet studious which suited both factions of the school; The faculty recognised and respected her efforts in the classroom and knew she had the potential for a truly bright future. She worked particularly hard for the subjects she had a specific passion for but managed to maintain a healthy social life. She had the balance that most students always endeavoured to achieve.

Alice Piezsecki was one of Bette Porter’s best friends within the school. She was known for experimenting with peculiar fashions and had a tendency to spread gossip faster than fire on a gas station. She was often inclined to meddle in her friends’ lives, commonly in the ‘love’ department. She only ever acted for what she believed to be the best and so her friends took her intrusions gratefully, knowing they were Alice’s conveyance of best intentions.

Dana Fairbanks was slightly quieter than the majority of her friends. She was often found in the gym or out on the Courts perfecting her serving stance. She was lovingly referred to by her associates as somewhat geeky, in the best sense of the word. She had been known to take jokes a little too seriously sometimes, which resulted in light teasing at her expense.  Despite their playful banter, she had a high-quality relationship with her tightly knit circle of companions.

In every school, there’s a girl that never seems to be short of admirers. Or there’s a guy who manages to appertain the attentions of all those around him. Here, Shane McCutcheon served that purpose. For every girl she set her sights on, fell with distinct ease into her ready arms. It didn’t ever occur to Shane to peruse her conquests’ sexuality – she never had to – every “straight” girl given half a chance by Shane, was more than willing to jump. She was sometimes nicknamed “Yoda” for her frequent spurts of wisdom and also “Casanova”.. for obvious reasons.
