I Want to Come Over, post 26
They arrived back at the hotel shortly before sunset. They watched it set from their balcony as it sank into the ocean.
Tina climbed into Bette’s lounge chair and settled against her. Bette smiled at the familiar move. They would often share a lounger at the house before Angelica was born and just take in the night together. They had some of their best talks and love sessions out there.
“I’ve thought a lot about what you told me earlier do you think that we can get past the hurt we have inflicted on one another?”
“Yeah I do. I’m so glad that you suggested this trip it gives us a chance to really talk. We haven’t talked about us really in all this time. Do you miss me Bette? Or are you so caught up in Rosanna that I don’t cross your mind much anymore?”
Bette tensed beneath her. “Yes Tina I miss you and I think about us. When I do I quickly remember the pain and the loss and then I don’t want to think anymore.”
“What causes you the most pain?”
“Losing you twice and losing our family.”
“Losing you once has been tough I never really thought about you losing me twice.”
“You didn’t lose me Tina you left me.”
“Yeah I did when you turned to Rosanna. In the back of my mind I realized that until that moment you had not said goodbye to me. I knew that you still loved and wanted me. I saw us as separated but not apart if that makes sense.”
“I lost you after the affair and then when you declared that you had feelings for men.”
“Why didn’t you stop me?”
“Stop you? How could I stop you from having feelings?”
“Maybe not but you could have fought for me a little harder. It felt like you were pushing me out the door, hell you put me out of your bed.”
“You did not want to be in my bed. You refused to make love with me for months.” Bette was getting steamed. “I will take responsibility for some things but not that Tina. You left me Tina repeatedly. Before you left you totally shut me out. Do you remember the day I told you that I missed you? That is one of the most painful memories. I would have done anything just to feel like you cared. Let me up.”

Well. I guess Tina didn’t take that great care of her, if Bette’s still hurting over that. I’m starting to wonder if they’ll withstand the talking either, and they’ve barely started. Thank you for posting, good update.
Powerful admissions. I am glad it’s not Candace b/c that’s old and Tina’s committed her fair share of betrayal.
When I read about their issues like that I have no faith in them seeing past everything. It’s very very difficult to put in the work to get past everything and with Ro being so close I can’t help but think that bette will take the easy route. Who would blame her except Tina and maybe Angelica later. But again because they her Bette will always be apart of Tina’s life and will remember that she took the easy way out….oh god, pls just post soon and easy the ache!!!
I still think they need to talk about their issues, there is still hope. Please continue.
kelika…….now u got me thinking when u say “worry about B & T” what r u gonna do??? man the angst, the heartache, etc. and now the possibility of unrequited love (kinda)???? OHHHH HOW MUCH MORE CAN MY LIL OLE TIBETTE HEART TAKE???? PPS…PPS…..PPS…PPS
Oh dear me…aren’t we really airing the stinkiest laundry here? Phewwee! Well, now is as good a time as any, and it needs be done. Great! I’m just gonna reach for my umbrella for the wah-wah fest, lol. Then we can start stitching up the broken hearts. :sniff: Quickly now, Kelika,…I don’t wanna drown in either of these women’s tears. :glub glub: I’m really enjoying this…even though you’re hanging the prospect of a lube-diving session right over my….8p OKay, okay, breathe….PPS!
the talking is going to get worst before it can get better and they need to be very honest with each other, and more open about their feelings then they have ever been.p.p.s.
I am with Nancy on this. I wiil get bad before it gets good. Then maybe they will see they can have a life together again. I just hope Bette does not run. Another Great Chapter I love it. Thank you Until tomorrow
Some tuff stuff, but I am still lovin’ it. I disagree with honda (and I LOVE Honda, I’ve had three including the one I drive now) and beleive as hard as it is and going to be, that Bette will see it through. If she takes the easy route and go to Ro after 8 years with Tina, how does that bode for her relationship with Ro and her williness to put in any hard work there? Once you allow or talk yourself into bailing out of tuff situations, it makes it harder to see those type of situations through. :o).
kelika you address an IMPORTANT point that I think that IC & company delt with VERY poorly in S1. Good job :o)
awesome……lets post again……..lol……i wouldnt be mad if you did of course…i love this…….please?????
Good. They need to put their issues on the table (so unlike the show . . . sigh). Staying with Ro would be easier for Bette in the sense that their relationship so far is relatively baggage-free. On the other hand, returning to Tina would guarantee Bette unlimited access to Angelica and the comforts of a shared past. Is whatever broke between Bette and Tina worth fixing? And assuming it’s worth fixing, is it too late? It’s in your hands, kelika!
I am going to be mature about Bette’s Tina or Rosanna dilemma. It is good that Bette is exploring things with Tina. When done, she will be able to fully commit to whichever one she chooses. I have been upfront about MY preference, though, and will keep fingers and toes crossed.
It’s never easy leaving a person you love and consider your soulmate. However, sometimes it is necessary. Sometimes self-preservation takes place. No Tina didn’t do a very good job of taking care of Bette, but that’s not all her fault, when the two of them can’t communicate. I’m glad to see them trying to answer some of the questions that keeps them apart, but realistically, a weekend can’t solve years of hurting one another. Yes it’s easier to move on to another person, but even that won’t last if Bette hasn’t grown. I believe she has, I’m still not 100% sure if Tina has. But, if Tina is what Bette truly wants, she will follow her heart, and hope her head catches up.
Awesome love this story, keep them talking and I have every faith they can work it out PPS
If Bette is still holding on to what Tina said about the biracial thing. She should get her purse and car keys and leave now. Stop in town rent Tina a car an let them both go their seperate ways. Stop wasting each other time. Let them both be happy living apart. Friends are best. Angie needs happy parents together or happier apart. Love this but they cantlive life in the past and be happy in the future. Talking doesnt seen to do anygood. thanks,do love this story.
Now is the real talk and Im with nancy720packers, just let them be honest and open up to each other. Ok let see more please, thanks!
Would someone please explain to me how I missed both this story and the one before it that started it all?? I have just spent a quiet Saturday reading both, start to finish…and I am so totally and completely hooked! Your writing is smart, filled with emotions, great with descriptions…wonderful…absolutely wonderful!!! Thank you for sharing this story with us!
so u wouldn’t tease me huh????? now I can breath but I’ve been scared all the way thru this story…its the little things that hurt and Bette’s been hurting since the biracial incident huh??? so how does Rosanna fix that??? It only hurts still becuz Bette loves Tina so much is my opinion…I like where this is at…right now…so pleasz lets have them sort it…its time for that crying they both need to do 2gether and no more avoidance and denial by running away to other women or a man…more soon pleasz
Oops, the period (.) should have been a question mark (?). :)
Bette should have moved past that…what can I say *shaking head*. Check your PMs. pps
