If it is meant to be…Chapter 71

I am hoping to get one more chapter written before tomorrow night. After that, I will be without a computer for at least a week, probably two. Thank you for all your kind words…for all your encouragement. I know there is not a lot of drama in this story, so I am grateful you are all still with me. I was hoping to finish up before moving, but just got so distracted with all the little details of life. I told you things were a little crazy…well, they still are. Just to fill you in (sorry for those of you who are not interested), I was laid off from my job at the end of December. Since I do not want to continue in the same line of work, I have decided to put all my precious belongings into storage (including my computer), rent out my house…pack up my RV, and head out to visit friends in southwest Florida. I am hoping to take most of the winter to do some serious soul searching and start a new plan, or path…whatever you want to call it. Now…you would think that at the age of 45, I would know what I want to do…where I want to live, but alas…I do not! However, I do have some ideas, so don’t be surprised to see me hanging out somewhere around LA. As far as work…I’m always willing to listen to suggestions, however remember manual labor is not an option! I am truly not coordinated enough to work with my hands….well….you know what I mean. Thank you for your patience. Please e-mail if you would like. I won’t be able to write a chapter, but will be able to read my mail. I hope to have a laptop within a week, maybe two. Peace…

    Chapter 71

“Oh my God I’m hot!!” Tina threw the covers off her and Bette, as both women gasped for air, after just experiencing yet another one of their simultaneous, toe curling orgasms. Their bodies were covered in sweat, the sheets trying desperately to soak up all the different…juices escaping from the now totally exhausted women…who after six hours, were just coming back from the sexual excursion they had gone on, into their own little physical world. Of course, the blast of cold air that came with Tina shedding the blankets, caused goosebumps to erupt as it hit their sweat soaked bodies, creating a beautiful shimmering effect rolling across both creamy and mocha colored skin.

“***** Tina! It’s cold in here,” Bette shivered. She tried to grab the covers, only to have Tina stop her.

“Here Baby,” Tina whispered. “Let me slide on top of you. I’ll keep you warm.”

Bette just groaned. “Oh my God…you are insatiable.” She groaned again, but her eyes and her smile told Tina just how much she loved these “excursions” of theirs.

Tina smoothly glided up and down Bette’s body with her own, stopping on every other pass to kiss Bette’s cheek, or nose, or lips. “Hmmmmm, Baby. I think we’re getting to be pretty good at this…you and I.”

Bette released a low, soft, chuckle. “Well, “pretty good” is not exactly how I would describe it, but yeah…your right…we do Ok.” She grinned at Tina. “Of course, we would probably do better if you weren’t trying to freeze me to death!” She gently stuck her fingers into Tina’s ribs and began to tickle her now squirming partner.

Tina exploded into giggles, trying to wiggle off of Bette and away from those burrowing fingers. “Bette…stop….it!!! She was gasping for air, trying to form words in between breaths. “Baby….I’m gonna….arhhhgggg!” Tina finally managed to get away from Bette’s octopus like arms, and she jumped off the bed.

“WhooHoo,” she shouted as she held her arms up in victory, and began her dance celebrating her narrow escape from the dreaded tickling machine. You would have thought she had learned her lesson up at the lake, but somehow she had conveniently forgotten about that, as she started to turn around, proudly prancing around the bedroom. “That’s right…I’m fast and I’m good! That’s right…no one can hold me dowwwwnnnn…whoaaaa!” Before she could finish her sentence, Tina found herself on her back, looking up at her smiling partner, whose fingers gently started digging into her ribs once again. Her eyes widened in surprise, knowing what was in store for her this time, as now she was no longer on top…this time Bette’s body weight was very conveniently holding her down.

“What was that about you being fast? I mean, I know you’re good…but fast?” The words purred out of Bette’s mouth.

By this time, Tina had tears in her eyes she was laughing so hard. “BABY!!!!!”

Bette lowered her face so it was just an inch from Tina’s, the whole time tickling away. “Hey…I thought you said you were going to keep me warm….”

“Yummmmm…Tina, this is the best turkey!” Bette closed her eyes, as she savored the moist, dark turkey meat.

After Tina had begged and begged Bette to stop her tortuous tickling…promising that she would pull the covers back up and keep them both warm, they decided that it was time for some much needed nourishment. Tina had cooked a turkey the previous morning, thinking the kids would be home for Christmas dinner. She was glad she had prepared it ahead of time, because now she and Bette were standing in front of the open refrigerator door, both wrapped up together in Tina’s bedspread, munching on whatever they could eat with their fingers, without having to warm it up first.

Tina looked up at the clock. “Wow! It’s four o’clock already! You know the kids will be here in two hours…so, don’t eat too much…save some room for dinner.”

Bette pushed out her bottom lip, pouting for a second before quickly popping into her mouth the piece of meat she had just grabbed. “Fine…,” she mumbled while chewing. She loosened the bedspread just a bit to reposition her half of it, and smelled the overwhelming aroma wafting up off of both women. Bette moaned with desire while closing her eyes and rolling her tongue around in her mouth. She was able to taste Tina just by smelling what was clearly the result of hours upon hours of making love.

Tina gazed over at her lover’s reaction, wondering if Bette really understood just how sensuous she was…every movement, every sound, every facial expression. When Bette finally opened her eyes, she looked at her lover, all snuggled in next to her and gave her a crooked smile, lifting one eyebrow. “Maybe we should take a shower before they get here.”

Tina giggled, knowing there was no way she wanted her children to see them in this condition. “You’re right. Let’s go.” The two women scooted up the stairs, giggling side by side…going from sensual to silly with one raised eyebrow.

They showered and were just finishing getting dressed, wanting to be ready in case the kids came home early. Bette was sitting on the side of the bed, leaning back on her arms, watching Tina….smiling. Tina picked up a small box that had been sitting on top on her dresser, and walked over to her.

“You know, with all the excitement around your gifts, and then all the…,” she cleared her throat, “other distractions…I forgot to give you your Christmas present.

Bette smiled and looked at Tina, her eyes shinning bright with love. “T, you didn’t have to…” Tina interrupted her. “Baby, I wanted to.” She gave Bette the box and sat down next to her on the bed.

Bette could feel the smile plastered on her face, could feel her heart beating just a little bit faster with anticipation. She slowly removed the wrapping paper, savoring the moment…then carefully lifted the lid off the box. Her breath caught in her throat as she removed the most exquisite silver locket, and necklace, the two silvers matching exacting. “Oh Baby,” she breathed, “this is so beautiful!”

Tina put her arm around Bette’s shoulders, not saying anything…waiting for the realization to come.

Bette rubbed her thumb over the rectangular locket, which was about an inch and a half in length…feeling the roughness of the lines from the beautiful engraving………..the engraving…….she was thinking how intricate the picture was, that only an incredibly talented artist could create this scene on such a small object…and then…it hit her.

She gasped, bringing her hand up to cover her mouth, her eyes widening. She quickly looked over at Tina, who was smiling at her, not saying a word. “T…oh my God, Tina….how…who?” Bette couldn’t finish, her tears taking control.

Tina tightened her hold and leaned in, whispering in Bette’s ear. “I love you so much, Baby. I want you to be able to keep your ring close to you, like I do mine. But, I also want you to have something that, when you look at it, will give you a feeling of home, of comfort, of family…and of happiness. Because, that is what this locket represents to me.” Tina kissed Bette on the cheek. “Merry Christmas, Baby.”

Bette turned on the bed and wrapped Tina in her arms, all her love for this woman flowing out through her body, encircling Tina’s. They sat that way for a moment, both grateful for the other…both feeling the love emanating out of this amazing locket.

Bette lifted her head and looked back down at what she was holding in her hands, slowly shaking her head. “Who did this Tina? Who carved this picture?”

Tina reached out and let her finger barely brush against the locket. “There’s a woman down at Pike Place Market. She has a stall inside, and has been there for as long as I have been in Seattle. I’m sure a lot longer than that though.” Tina’s soft tones were just above a whisper. “I brought her one of the pictures of our house in LA…” she smiled at Bette. “One of the pictures that was in the album you gave me, and asked her if she could engrave it on the locket. She just smiled at first, then asked me to sit down and tell her the story of the house, and the people who lived inside.” Tina stopped for a moment, smiling at the memory of sharing her and Bette’s love story to the old woman, whose hands were as steady as they had been fifty years earlier. She looked down and rubbed her finger over the incredibly detailed picture of their home. “I didn’t say anything to her about including the hedge in front…I thought that it would be too difficult to engrave. I couldn’t believe what she had created when I went to pick it up. I felt like I was standing right in front of our house.”

She took a deep breath and looked at Bette. Very softly…almost timidly she asked, “Do you like it?”

Bette reached up and ran her finger along Tina’s eyebrow, and down her cheek. “Oh Baby…I think you know that I love it.” She pointed down to the locket. “This house was where I spent the happiest years of my life…and I hope that you know they were the happiest, because we spent them there together.”

She reached over and engulfed her lover…her soulmate into her arms, and whispered into her ear, “When we get to New York, will you go with me to my safety deposit box, so we can put my ring where it belongs?”
