"Where’s Bette?" Tina asked interested.

"Bette’s away in New York. She’ll be back on Friday." Kit answered her.

So this is what it feels like to not know where she is all the time. Tina slipped an orange tank over her ever growing baby bump.

She cupped the sides of her tummy and smiled, "I promise, I’m going to provide you a great future."

Tina sat on the bed and winced. She was laying in the middle of the king size bed at Joyce Wischnia’s guest house. The proposal Tina had spent a lot of time on had been written and sent just a minute ago. She was feeling low at the moment. It was too quiet and the large bed made her feel even emptier inside.

She picked up her phone and dialed Alice, hoping she’d be available for some friendly bonding. Also, Alice was the only one who knew she was pregnant and so the only one who she could ask to do her a favor and bring her some Thai food. She was directed to voice mail. Tina sighed and hung up.

The door to Tina’s guest house was pushed open. It was Joyce Wischnia.

"Tina? Are you in here?"

Tina swung her legs over the bed carefully and met her at the door.

"Yes, I’m in here." Tina smiled, pushing her hair back behind her ears.

"I just wanted to say thank you for the orchids. I know my flowers and those my darling are the best ones."

By now Tina had retreated back to her bed, sitting comfortably.

"Joyce, I just wanted to say thank you for everything you’ve done for me. I mean this has been the most difficult time. I appreciate all that you’ve done. I had nowhere to go and you let me stay here. Thank you. Thank you so much."

After seeing the look on Tina’s face when Kit told her that Bette was away Alice knew something was up. She was aware that Bette and Tina were having a hard time. Who knew what was going to happen? No one knew the answer, it was in the air.

Alice had decided then that she’d pay Tina a visit and speak with her. Possibly persuade her to tell Bette that she was pregnant. Alice felt she owed Bette, because she had suggested Tina to Joyce in the first place. She felt badly as it seemed her two bestfriends were really going to separate from one another. Like she had told Tina before, "Remember when I said if you two ever break up it would suck? Well? It really does suck!"
