On her way home to shower, Shane called Alice and Dana to wish them Merry Christmas.

Meanwhile, Ryan was in her bathroom putting on her make-up with a little help from her niece.

Aunt Ryan..I think Shane is fun. I like her a lot. I like her hair, its cool.

I like her too sweetie. Ryan said laughing at her nieces seriousness.

Mommy and Daddy really like her too.

How do you know that Laney? Ryan asked curiously.

I heard them say it last night, they thought I was sleeping.

Yeahsweetie, I am happy. Why are you asking?

Grandma told Shane she has never seen you so happy.

Really? When was this?

This morning while you were in the bathroom.

Nothing really, Grandma talked mostly.

OH MY GODRyan thought to herself.

You know Laney its not polite to listen to other peoples conversations.

I know, I just overheard. I wasnt really listening.

Its ok sweetie, youll probably have a great career in the FBI like me. Ryan kissed Laney and sent her to get dressed.

Ryan pulled her mom aside privately before Shane arrived.

Mom??? As Ryan came up behind her mom hugging her from behind.

Big ears was just informing me that you had a chat with Shane this morning.
You wanna tell me what you were talking about??

I will have to have a talk with Laney about eavesdropping. Mrs. Sawyer said.

Already did Mom, dont change the subject. Ryan said playfully.

Mrs. Sawyer was trying to be playful back with Ryan.

I just told Shane, it was nice to see you happy. Is that a crime?

Mom, dont do stuff like that. Im an adult. Its embarrassing!

Dont worry Ryan. It was a harmless conversation. No one got hurt or bitten.

Ryan, can I be serious with you for a second sweetheart?

Sure Mom. Ryan said nervously.

I saw you two dancing last night.

Oh My God, Mom! You were spying on us?

No, I just got up to get some water to take my medicine. I couldnt help but notice you both out there.

Embarrassment swept all over Ryans face. She wasnt sure were her mother was heading.



As a parent, the greatest gift someone can give your child is to make their heart smile.
Watching you grow up I had the great pleasure of trying to make your heart smile as a Mom. I have also watched in pain, you ache, hurt, and feel loss. Last night for the first time, I saw someone (Shane) truly make your heart smile. The way you used to smile as a child.

When Shane was holding you last night, I saw true happiness in you.
As a parent I am thankful for that and I am thankful I had a chance to see it. Thats all we want sweetie, your dad and I, we want you to happy, to love and to be loved.
Everyone deserves that. Especially you Sweetie.

Then she kissed Ryan on the cheek and hugged her. By the time Mrs. Sawyer was finished, Ryans eyes were filled with tears and they were flowing gracefully down her cheeks.

Thank you Mom. I couldnt make these changes in my life without you and dad. I love you both so much! Ryan bear hugged her mom and kissed her on the forehead.

The door bell rang about that time.

Ah.Saved by the bell, Mrs. Sawyer said.

I love you too Ryan, Mrs. Sawyer said kissing Ryans hand and headed to answer the door. Ryan scurried to her bedroom to clean her face up quick. She didnt want Shane to see her crying. She was afraid it might scare her off.

Hi Shane, come on in. Ryans in her room, she should be out in a second.
Im going outside to round the Laney and the boys up.

OhOk. Shane replied back.

Shane entered and the house was quiet. She was a little freaked. All the guys and Laney were in the back playing. Ryan came out of the bedroom. Shane could tell it looked like she had been crying.

Concerned Shane asked and not really sure she wanted to know the answer.

You ok baby?

Yeah..why? Ryan asked.

You look like youve been crying. As Shane ran her fingers down the side of Ryans face.

Just a little. Everything is fine though.

You sure??

YeahIm sure.

OkIf you need to talk or anything.

Ryan cut Shane off with a kiss.

Everything is fine. Now lets go ice skating.

With so many people they had to take two cars. Ryan, Shane and Laney drove Sarah. Again Shane drove. When they got out of their cars at the parking lot, Caden grabbed Ryan.

You let her drive Sarah??

Yeah Ryan said with a smile and sigh.

We like her Ryan, I think she fits in perfectly. Not wanting to make a big deal or scene he hugged his sister and walked ahead.

Ryan grabbed Shanes hand. Shane jumped and was a little startled.

Hey..you sure thats ok to do that in front of the fam??

They like you Shane, most important, I like you.

Shane smiled widely and squeezed Ryans hand a little firmer. She whispered in her Ryans ear.

I like you a lot too.

When they got to the rink, it was crowded with lots of people. People skating, people falling, and people trying to keep their balance. Shane watched in horror.

Oh *****. Shane thought to herself. Im gonna fall on my *****.

Sensing Shanes nervousness, Ryan said, Dont be scared Baby. Ill catch you if you fall.

I believe we have been there before. Shane said to Ryan, then throwing her arm around her.

They rented their skates and hit the ice. Shane held on to Ryans hand and held onto the side rail. She felt like an idiot. Skaters were zooming around her on the ice. Even Laney was an expert. She skated around flawlessly.

After a couple of times around, Shanes confidence was building. And after Laneys insistent persuading and coaching, Shane finally let go of the rail. Shane held Ryans hand and Laneys as they skated slowly around the rink.

Up until that point Shane hadnt taken any spills. About that time a guy zoomed around the three and crashed into them and knocking them down. They landed in a pile with Ryan on bottom , then Shane, then Laney.

Laney got up first, who was obviously Ok. Shane got up, checking out Laney, then giving her hand to Ryan. Who wasnt doing so well. She was holding her wrist. Good thing the guy was apologetic because Shane was primed and ready to kick some *****.

Oh man, are you ok baby? Shane asked intently.

Yeahare you guys ok? Ryan said still holding her wrist.

Ryans parents were on the sidelines watching and drinking coffee. They came running over to check on the girls.

Is everyone Ok? Ryans Dad asked.

Yes, Grandpa were fine.

Are you Ok Shane?

YeahIm good. Shane said still looking at Ryan holding her wrist.

Ryan let me see you wrist.

Its fine Dad. Ryan could feel the swelling. She knew it was probably fractured.

About that time Caden and Emily came circling around them.

You Ok sweetie? They asked their daughter.

Im fine.

They asked Shane again how she was. She again said she was ok.

Give me you hand sis. Its fine Caden.

Shane was getting a sense of Ryans stubbornness.
Let me see it Ryan.

She hesitantly gave her brother her wrist. It was swelling and beginning to bruise.

Guess we are taking a trip to the ER. You know its broke, Ryan.

YeahI know.

Heywhy dont you guys let me take her to the hospital and well meet you back at the house.

Ryan agreed with Shane. There was no point in everyone going and spending the rest of the evening waiting in the ER. They all kissed Ryan and said goodbye.

Shane drove Ryan to the ER. Ryan had also bumped her head pretty hard on the ice. She had knot on the back of her head.

*****, my head hurts. As Ryan rubbed the back of her head.

You smacked it pretty good babe. Hows the wrist?

It hurts like a son of a ***** too. This sucks, my FBI buddies are never going to let me live this one down. Breaking my wrist ice skating, I would have rather been shot.

Dont say ***** like that. Shane said. Youll get me all freaked out.

Ryan could tell Shane was bothered with her comment, so she decided not to tell Shane she had actually been shot before. She decided to drop that conversation all together. Ryan became lost in thought. There was so much she needed to tell Shane about her past. There was so much she wanted to know about Shanes life. She told herself those conversations can wait another time.

They spent a couple of hours at the ER. No concussion but she had a fractured left wrist. They casted her and gave her some pain killers for a couple of days and sent her on her way.

When they got home Ryan took a pain pill and headed off for bed. She asked Shane to stay with her in her bedroom. Ryan wanted Shane to take care of her and Shane was craving to. Shane was a little unsure but after persuading from Mrs. Sawyer, Shane agreed to stay.

Shane helped Ryan get into her pajamas. It was difficult to see her naked and not do anything about it. She wanted to jump Ryan, but she didnt want to take advantage of her incoherent state.

God, you have an amazing body Ryan. As Shane slid Ryans pants on.

Thank you. as Ryan started to move Shanes hand to her panties.

Uhmmmm, Ryan? Shane said dealing with her own pain growing between her legs.

Dont think this is what your Mom had in mind when she asked me to stay with you.

Its exactly what I had in mind. As Ryan moved Shanes hands to her exposed *****.

God Ryan, I want to, but we just cant.

Ah *****, Ryan.. as Ryan moved her hand in between Shanes thighs. Thats just so not fair.

Not being able to escape desire, Shane began kissing Ryan hard on the mouth and working her tongue leisurely down her neck. Ryan was exhaling every breath with pleasure. Shane was giving in to Ryans demands with every moan Ryan let escape her mouth.

Shane continued to work her tongue and mouth around Ryans neck and shoulders. Shane noticed Ryan had gone limp and very quiet. Shane sat up quickly and saw Ryan passed out asleep. The pain pills had done Ryan in.

*****. Shane mumbled to herself. Shane sat there for a moment and stared in silence at her Sleeping Beauty. She was beginning to realize how hard she was falling for this woman. And how uncontrollable and unstoppable these feelings were.

Shane covered Ryan up with a blanket and kissed her on the forehead. She changed her clothes and found one of Ryans t-shirts to put on. She climbed back in bed and snuggled up behind Ryan. Ryan didnt manage to put her shirt on. Shane ached to touch the naked, silky skin that was before her. She wanted her mouth all over Ryan, and she wanted Ryans mouth all over her. Shane finally managed to relax and fall asleep in a spooning position next to Ryan.

The sun came into Ryans window waking her up. She had a massive headache and her wrist was sore. She rolled over to see Shane sleeping soundly next to her. She looked so cute, her normally messed up hair was more messed up. Ryan began playing softly with Shanes hair.

Ryan whispered in Shanes ear, Wake up sleepy head, time to get up.

Shane grumbled and put a pillow over her head. Ryan tickled Shane lightly on the ribs.

Dont start something you cant finish. Shane yelled out from under the pillow.

OhI can finish baby. Ryan playfully grumbled back.

Might want to rethink that comment there baby. As Shane pulled the pillow off her head.

What? Ryan asked curiously.

Shane managed to tell Ryan how she passed out in the early beginnings of lovemaking.

Oh God, Shane, Im so sorry.

Dont worry about it Baby. As Shane kissed Ryan.

You had a lot of pain killers.

How are you feeling?

Feeling good, except I might die from embarrassment. As Ryan buried her head in the pillow.

Shane grabbed the pillow and threw it on the floor, the she pulled Ryans face to hers and said, I said dont worry about it.

Shane then grabbed Ryans cast, Does it hurt?

Yeah..it still hurts a little, my head more, I think.

Do you have any clients today?

Yeah.I have a couple. In fact I probably should get up and go.

Are you going to be ok?

Yeah.I need to take them to the airport today.

What time?

Around 3 or 4. I think??

I should be done around around 2. Ill finish up and head back over here to help you, ok.

Are you sure??

Yes Im sure.

Thank you Shane, you are so sweet. As Ryan gave Shane a big kiss on the lips.

Shane got up and left to her apartment then headed off to work for the day. Ryan got up and managed to take a one arm shower. While in the shower her mind drifted to Shane helping her take a shower.

Ok.save that thought for later. Ryan said to herself.

After Shane got off work, she and Ryan took her family to the airport. They all said their loving goodbyes and then they left for D.C. Ryan and Shane got in their cars and headed for dinner, on their way there, Alice called and asked them to meet her and Dana somewhere.

Shane was a little hesitant, but figured a group dinner might break up some of the sexual tension flowing so easily between her and Ryan. Shane excepted the offer and they were on their way to eat a friendly dinner with Alice and Dana.
