“Bette I want to apologize about what happened in your office, I don’t know what came over me I must have gone temporarily insane” Tina said with a low voice

“Apology accepted” Bette paused and sighed heavily “I’m sorry too Tina I felt that I lead you on to something…”

“Bette you don’t have anything to be sorry about…” Tina stopped having second thoughts of asking Bette the question that had been lurking in her mind

‘Do you have any regrets about what happened that night?” Tina was holding her breath waiting for the brunette’s reply

“No I don’t” Bette said softly almost a whisper but Tina was still able to hear her

Tina took a deep breath “Thank you”

 Bette didn’t respond she was just looking at the ocean

“I like you Tina and if it’s okay with you I’d like us to be friends” Bette said still looking at the ocean

A big smile broke on Tina’s face “I would love that”

Chapter 20

Bette had been driving for thirty minutes on her way home, she just came from the Peabody party and she felt somewhat exhausted, she decided to roll down the window car to permit some air and at the same time to help clear her mind. She could still hear Tina’s voice lingering inside her head when the blonde asked her if she ever regret what happened between the two of them in the blonde’s apartment.

Her answer was the absolute truth; she didn’t feel any ounce of regret. Instead, she thought making love to Tina opened her eyes to a whole new world she never knew existed. However a lot of things were also running in her mind, questions that she never thought that she will ask herself.

She knew without a doubt that she had feelings for the beautiful blonde and those were not just innocent feelings but romantic and carnal feelings. Has she always had it in her? Feelings for women? Was it just buried deep inside her that when she saw a beautiful woman like Tina Kennard that all those feelings suddenly came into the surface? Or was it just a midlife crisis, a phase on one’s life that if not everyone then most people go through? And if indeed she’s in love with Tina was she willing to throw away the six years that she had with Ed? Was she even ready to start a relationship with a woman? And if in case that will happen won’t it disrespect the memory of her son?
