    A glimpse past the end of ‘it’s just lunch’.

    Tina walked up behind Bette as she stood at the kitchen counter. She placed her arms around Bette’s waist and pulled her body in.

    “Good morning,” Tina said.

    “It is a good morning,” Bette replied. She turned to face Tina.

    “How are you feeling this morning?” Tina asked.

    “Well, we didn’t sleep at all, so to be honest, I’m very tired,” Bette replied. “But it is so worth it.”

    “I’m glad I was able to have a nap before coming over last night,” Tina said.

    “If you’d warned me you’d be done early, I could have rested up too,” Bette said. “You were quite…energetic.”

    “If I’d told you, it wouldn’t have been a surprise,” Tina explained. “You don’t have to go to work today do you?”

    “No, I’m just accustomed to getting up early,” Bette replied.

    “You deserve some rest after last night,” Tina leaned in and kissed her cheek before whispering in her ear. “In case you didn’t notice I really enjoyed myself.”

    “Well, first of all, I noticed,” Bette said quietly in return. “And second of all, I enjoyed myself as well.”

    “Why don’t you try to get some rest?” Tina asked.

    “Are you going to let me sleep?”

    “Perhaps just long enough to recharge,” Tina replied.

    “You’re insatiable,” Bette said.

    “That word implies I can’t be satisfied,” Tina said. “And let me be clear. You satisfied me. All. Night. Long.”

    “I love how you sound when you’re approaching…satisfaction,” Bette said. She leaned in and kissed Tina.

    They parted slightly.

    “Teach me to do that for you,” Tina whispered into Bette’s still parted lips.

    “You don’t need any instruction whatsoever,” Bette replied.

    “Come on,” Tina protested, assuming Bette was teasing her.

    “I’m serious!” Bette smiled. “I’m just not very demonstrative. But it really turns me on that you are…”

    “You’re making me want you again,” Tina said. She reached for the drawstring on Bette’s pyjama bottoms and tugged at it lightly.

    It acquiesced to release almost immediately.

    “Making love with a woman is more intuitive than I think you realize,” Bette said, willing herself to speak in spite of the sensations that Tina was causing her body to experience.

    “Time to test that theory,” Tina said. “Come back to bed.”

    Tina backed away a few steps before turning and walking back to the bedroom.

    Bette was close behind her. Sleep could wait.
