    Where’ve you been Carmen?

    CARMEN

    I was in London, spinning, working for a bunch of different artists.

    ALICE

    CARMEN

    What about you guys?

    ALICE

    Well…Helena here, she’s become a real card shark.

    HELENA

    Not true, Alice. I play a little here and there.

    ALICE

    Bullshit, Helena!

    TASHA

    You were addicted to it.

    HELENA

    They’re just being dramatic, Carmen. Don’t believe them. It was just fun and games.

    CARMEN

    (chuckles) Okay. How bout you, Max?

    MAX

    I’ve been developing a system to launch Alice’s chart using complex Unix commands.

    CARMEN

    Yeah?…Well you look good, Max.

    MAX

    Thanks.

    CARMEN

    So how long have you and Alice been together?

    TASHA

    Almost a year now.


    TASHA grabs ALICE’S hand and ALICE leans into her shoulder.


    CARMEN

    ALICE

    Hey, Angus is about to play.

    The crowd is gathered around the stage. ANGUS is playing his latest single: K.I.T. (Keep In Touch). ALICE, HELENA, TASHA, MAX, and CARMEN are in the crowd. The music fills the space with noise and energy.


    CARMEN takes a sip of her beer.

    CARMEN

    (to ALICE)

    So…how is she?

    ALICE

    What?

    CARMEN

    How is she?

    ALICE

    Who…oh…uh, Shane? She’s okay. She was supposed to meet us here tonight.

    CARMEN

    Really?

    ALICE

    Well, her dad just died and there was the thing with her brother.

    CARMEN

    Is she okay?

    ALICE

    You know Shane. You never really know for sure. Honestly, I think she’s pretty wrecked. She’s been through a lot.

    CARMEN

    Yeah.

    ALICE

    She felt really bad after the wedding and everything.

    CARMEN

    (affected)

    I know. It was just…it was too much. I had to get away.

    ALICE

    That’s understandable. (beat) So, do you think you’d want to talk to her?

    CARMEN

    I’m not sure.

    ALICE

    Yeah…well, she still lives in the same place.

    CARMEN

    Maybe.


    INT-BETTE’S HOUSE-NIGHT

    SHANE and BETTE are in bed smoking.

    SHANE

    I think…I think I’m going to take off.

    BETTE

    Okay. You don’t have to leave, you know.

    SHANE

    4. As weird as B&S together seems, I can see it happening just for the sex. I can’t see long term though. But then why not, it’s fanfiction. Now put Tina with Carmen.

    7. I guess I’m the only one having a big problem with Tina’s sneaking around Bette’s house, listening at her door at what Bette thought was her own private moment, and then running off to tell everyone??

    11. Wow this is intriquing. I hope that Jodi stays out of the country and that Bette and Tina can work through all this mess. Bette and Shane okay for one night. I hope that this does not change their relationship but it usually does. Carmen and Shane, Bette and Tina but not Bette and Shane.
