Alice couldnt speak or breathe or even move. The thing she wanted, she dreaded. There was always something about Bette that got to her. And sometimes she thought Dana reminded her a little of Bette. They were the only people that she was completely comfortable around. The only people in her little group that she could really tease and say anything to and not feel like an ***** afterwards or fear losing them as a friend. On second thought, now that her and Dana were lovers, she felt cautious around Dana. And now occasionally she even felt guilty picking on her. She didnt feel guilty with Bette. Alice couldnt put her finger on it as to why she didnt get that way with Bette. She couldnt remember feeling this when they were together.

Maybe she liked having Bettes attention again. She liked having someone else be the strong one. Not that Dana wasnt strong, but when it came to Dana, Alice felt like she was the protector and the teacher and it was an unusual situation for her.
