Chapter 8
Helena was busy applying her makeup when the door to her bedroom opened and Alice wandered inside, holding a battered copy of Rollling Stone.
Helena watched from her mirror as Alice struggled to maintain her studied air of nonchalance. Unfortunately, Alice had never had the ability to keep her mobile, expressive face implacable.
Setting her mascara wand down on the counter, Helena swiveled toward Alice and said, "Very well. What’s going on, darling?"
Alice, unable to keep up the pretense, shoved the magazine into Helena’s face. The brunette took the offering and glanced at it for a moment until she looked up sharply, crying, "Alice! That’s brilliant! You’re a band to watch!"
Alice grinned at Helena’s enthusiasm but the Brit could sense an underlying nervousness beneath the excitement.
Dropping the magazine to her lap, Helena watched Alice closely and questioned, "What’s the matter, Alice?"
Alice sank heavily onto Helena’s bed, glancing at the ceiling as she said deliberately, "I just have a couple of things on my mind. Like, it’s awesome being in Rolling Stone. It’s what we’ve been working toward. Touring as much as we do and everything is meant to make us more recognizable. And that’s cool- but Hel, it could go the other way so fast, y’know?"
Helena nodded in understanding. Truthfully, she comprehended Alice’s dilemma. Helena was a musician, and a superb one at that. She did compose a fair amount, but as a classical artist, she had countless masterpieces that she could fall back upon if new compositions didn’t work for her. Alice really didn’t have that luxury. Rock music was a chimera. Constantly changing and adapting; a fickle business, indeed.
"That’s true, Alice. And I can’t offer any life-changing advice on the matter because it would be bollocks."
Alice had to laugh at Helena’s honesty.
Continuing, Helena said meaningfully, " But I can tell you that you are truly gifted. And you write music that’s quirky and moving and wonderfully unique. Most of all, darling, you’re passionate. And you have to work under the assumption that you belong and that you can make a statement. That’s all you can do. Nothing’s forever, y’know?"
Alice considered Helena’s thoughtful advice for a moment before she opened her mouth to speak and then promptly shut it.

Frip so loved that Helena is a great friend to Al, and seeing that Al took the advice she was given. Now we see the Tina is in the picture and seems to have noticed how Dana reacted to Dana talking about Al, but didnt say a word. I love how Al an Dana are so corny that is it sweet at the same time…great chapter Frip.
Just as I was getting off line, I decided to check the page and come to find out who put up a new post. Well I guess I found out sooner than I thought. lol. I’m glad that Helena was there for Alice when she needed a friend. OOOhhhh, Miss Tina Kennard comes into the picture. I can kind of think of where this is going. I think. lol Dana and Alice are so cute together. I hope that the 3 days will go smoothingly for the two ladies, even though they won’t be together because of the different occasions. I can’t wait to see what happens next. Oh yeah, thanks for enjoy my last chapter!!!! PPS.

I told Akiracolorblind that it would be an earlier night but instead I was catching up on some old blogs regarding the show. Again, at 3 am your post appeared. What could I say other than I must read it. Thank you for mentioning Crossroads by Goldrun15. I will get to it soon. Btw, I also have friends who think orange juice and ketchup are fruit and vegetables. I have a chuckle from it. I think as you get older, you will think differently. Anyway back to your story. In the last chapter, I also noticed the red head but I did not want to think, even an inkling, that she was into culinary. If so, bring her on. I believe A & D’s deep love for each other would help them to endure all hurdles coming their way. From the conversation with H, A’s fear was totally legitimate. There would be the Fairbanks and the whole tennis world that they had to deal with. I look forward to seeing how things will unfold. “Let him who desires peace prepare for war,” that’s deep and true. I also like the introduction of TK. Wow, another incredibly good chapter. I totally agreed with the effect they had on each other. I guess being in love, one could conquer all. Yes, for you, carte blanche will always stand. Please do not ever second guess your writing ability. If MT said you are good, YOU ARE GOOD, period. One last thing, you can always bring back the hand washing deleted scene in another chapter. I will love to read that. Thanks again for your post.
yeah there is a huge time difference between where I live and where you live. I’m guessing your from the USA? or not somewhere in the west? We have like a ten hour difference. I just had dinner with my friends so idk what you’d be doing at this hour. I’m so glad that I stopped to check who has posted, this is another great chapter from you. I just love happy Danish. It makes me smile all the time. I hope they’ll get though without seeing each other for two days lol. Thanks for the post. I’m looking forward to the next one.:)
