Lifeless Chptr. 9
“I get it Al.”
“Uhh, I don’t think you do.” She rolled her eyes and continued. She knew that goading her wife with memories of other gorgeous women was something that would surely boil her blood. “Her voice was the epitome of sex. Like umm, oh oh oh, you know that actress from ’Back to School’ Sally Kellerman?” Tasha nodded her head. “Well one day, alone in her class Tina had to practice a dramatic reading with her and I swear it was like that scene where she reads to the class to get their attention. Every single syllable was sensual.”
“I get it Babe!” Tasha spoke almost agitated with Alice’s obvious detailed memory of this other woman. “She was hot, lets move on!”
“Ok, so I was waiting for Tina at the back of the class and I swear there was lust oozing from her as she read to Tina. Tina sat in a chair in front of the room damn near melting as she read to her. Her body was flustered and the way she followed every movement that she made circling Tina as she read was a dead give away. Now Tina says that nothing ever happened, but I suspected otherwise.”
“Like always.”
“Whatever, it was during that time in our Sophomore year when Rick and Tina had broken up to ‘see where their relationship would take them’ bullshit, a.k.a. ’I just want to fuck other people guilt free’. And the same professor just so happened to take a trip to Paris just as Tina was there during her internship abroad. I mean, come on!” Alice said smugly proudly of herself for seeing through Tina’s ‘lies’.
“So Tina told you they hooked up in Paris?” Tasha asked leaning on her shoulder against the doorframe of the kitchen.
“Not exactly.”
“Right.” She said walking back into the kitchen with a smile.
…………………………………….
“Do you mind if I ask you a question?”
“Do I ever?”
“No I guess not. You’re an extremely successful doctor, and a very caring and warm person. How come you haven’t been tied down already?”
“Tied down?” Bette smiled at the use of the phrase. It had been a long while since anyone had said those words around her. Tina blushed as she rolled eyes, trying to chew faster to give Bette a better explanation of her question.
