Luau (Chapter 1)

The new house had been the perfect choice for Bette and Tina’s wedding. The grounds were beautiful and the tennis court was easily converted into an amazing dinner space. When she’d first mentioned the idea of hosting Bette and Tina’s second wedding, Dana had been overwhelmed by Alice’s generous spirit. Now, some five months later, the renovations were finally finished enough for Dana and Alice to have at last moved into their new just home a week ago.
The rehearsal was going swiftly and the party would soon move to Helena’s for the rehearsal dinner, but Dana didn’t want to go. All she could see, all she could think about, was how incredible Alice looked. She did not look away when Al caught her lustful stare and returned her lascivious gaze. They both sighed as they realized just how long the next couple of days were going to be.
“And then, of course, the brides seal their commitment with a kiss,” Reverend Paul said with a twinkle.
“Perhaps you might like a little rehearsal on that?’ Peggy Peabody’s droll voice made everyone laugh.
“I think so,” Tina said, taking a step closer to her intended. “We have to make sure we get it right.”
Bette didn’t hear anything else. She took Tina into her arms and planted a scorcher on her, leaving them both a little weak in the knees. Finally the hoots and hollers of their closest friends penetrated their consciousness and they turned to face them, holding each other’s arm for support.
“And then I’ll introduce the Kennard-Porters and the wedding party will follow you back down the aisle.” An unfazed Reverend Paul gave them a gentle nudge, sending Bette and Tina on their way.
Alice and Dana held hands, waiting for them to make it to the halfway point.
“You’re beyond gorgeous,” whispered Dana, giving Al’s hand a little squeeze. “I am the luckiest woman alive.”
“No, baby, that would be me.” Alice’s eyes sparkled and they trouped off before Dana could argue.
Somewhere in the distance, Dave barked his approval as he bounded toward his girls, Shane hot on his heels. As soon as he saw Dana and Alice, Dave came to an immediate halt and sat at the farthest end of the aisle, just off to the side. Bette and Tina somehow managed to sidestep Shane as she came barreling through. The moment she hit the temporary white plastic, she took a nosedive, sliding to an awkward finish at Dana and Alice’s feet. No one dared breath until Shane started to pick herself up.

Ok, you have totally made my week. i was out of town all weekend and i come back to this, needless to say i did a little happy dance in my chair :) I am a big fan of yours and never had a chance to post on your other stories because i found them too late, sad i know!! but i will be posting now. Phew, you’re back! Good, now maybe your fans will ease up on me a little bit. I definitely can’t fill your shoes writing wise (or any other way). I love this as I do everything you write, it’s a great beginning to what I’m sure will be yet another great story.
