Hours later Tina was permitted to remove her collar and life in the Porter-Kennard house returned to ‘normal’. Bette was attempting some basic DIY that she had been putting off for months and Tina was sitting with her feet up flicking through one of Bette’s many art books.
“Tina! T, quick!” the blonde looked up hearing the yelling. She jumped off of the sofa making her way towards the noise.
“Yes?” She pokes her head around the door of the spare room seeing Bette attempting to fix some shelves to the wall, effectively holding up one end with her shoulder and attempting to screw it in at the same time. The blonde giggled at her discovery that DIY was not one of Bette’s strong points.
The brunette raises her eyebrows impatiently. “Are you just going to stand there?”
Tina quickly moves forward putting her arms out. “What do you want me to do?”
“Could you take this please? There put your hands under this end.” Bette moves out of the way, so Tina can take her position. “Is it too heavy, are you OK?”
“Yes I’m fine, just hurry up” Tina stands with her back to the wall, one end of the shelf propped up with two hands.
Bette stood back reaching for a pen so she could mark where the hole needed to be drilled. She stood back looking at Tina, admiring her in this position. The blonde was oblivious, thinking back to a stunning painting she had just been looking at in Bette’s collection, wondering whether she could possibly purchase a replica. She is brought back to the present when Bette leans towards her, placing a hand each side of Tina’s chest.
The blonde looks down at Bette’s arms and then back up “Bette what are you doing?”
“Just admiring my girlfriend”
“Please could you put the shelf up and then do that, my arms are going to begin to shake”
Bette raises an eyebrow, liking where this is headed.
“Noooo, we are not doing this now” Tina responds raising an eyebrow.
Bette stands back, observing her girlfriend, trapped under the shelf, arms bent just above her head.
“Bette if you don’t screw this damn shelf up soon I’m gonna kick your ass.” Tina threatens.

wow. though I have never personally experienced a relationship such as this one, you write so beautifully. Bette is naturally the alpha and therefore in charge but giving herself to Tina is the ultimate act of love. good job. pps
Hi Bayley,your comments made it clear what you were going for in this chapter, and I think you achieved your goal. It may not have been the most “on the edge” chapter you have written, but it does show the overall dynamic of this B/t relationship. You may have put it best in the last line of this post where you talk about the “silent communication” and how they both seem to understand the other’s desires. Hope you post soon. Bayley – This is going to be long and I may be totally off base from what you are trying to portray in this story but this is my comprehension. In the context of this story “punishment” is not a penalty for wrong doing or a means of discipline to correct bad behaivor or change a behaivor instead it’s the endgame for their BDSM game play. Tina’s need to be sexually pleasured in ways that are dehumanizing, cruel and painful is satisfied by Bette dolling out “punishments” and Bette gets her sexual pleasure from the power she feels over Tina when she brings her to the brink of tolerance. Since Tina has such a high tolerance level and Bette has a cruel nature her acts and actions get progressively more intense to the point of almost breaking Tina. In order to maintain control they implement safe words, consent, and the “contract” to establish the boundaries of how far they will take their roles and each is trusting the other to stay within these established boundaries so it remains pleasurable for both. For me this chapter of Bette “submitting” to Tina was necessary to give Tina the assurance that the agreement between them is binding and that Bette can be trusted to follow through on her word giving credence to Bette’s genuineness in this relationship but what I got from it was just another of Bette’s manipulative tactics of keeping her possession and reasserting her power. The actions and thoughts that went through her mind whether it would pleasure Tina or not just confirmed that Tina doesn’t have any recourse should Bette really get out of hand and I’m not convinced that even the “safe word” would work with Bette if she was out of control. Bette knows exactly what methods to use whether it’s cuddling or spanking to keep her plaything and pet exactly where she wants her. I don’t think what Tina did to Bette to “put her in her place” was important. As a reader I was more interested in seeing Bette wholeheartedly giving “temporary control” over to Tina by showing her that she totally respected, trusted, and loved her and that it wasn’t just an act to satisfy her deviant proclivities. By trying to worm out of the agreement and only agreeing to submit once Tina threatened to disregard the other rules gave me the impression that Bette is more devious than already established and things are going to get progressively worse.
Quite a remarkable chapter, I must say. I really enjoyed Bette’s thought process in this chapter, and that you let on how truly vulnerable she can be. It’s important to know one’s strengths and weaknesses, just as Tina is finding out here. It is obviously difficult for Bette to take what she gives, and that’s understandable, but I think this role reversal was crucial to their relationship. A Domme or general “top” should know how each punishment feels before using them on someone else, otherwise he/she could accidentally injure their partner. I’m really glad you decided to write and post this chapter, because it really peers into the emotional depths of a game like this, and allows others to see that while it might not be a usual practice, there are reasons for every tease and jolt. Bette and Tina’s play was well-constructed, as was the rest of this chapter. Well done.
Didn’t really like the role reversal but totaly understand why it had to be done… Bette giving her self to Tina in that way shows how deep her love is for her… Please keep them coming I looke for updates every hr ;)lol
Maybe it’s my naivete about BDSM relationships but I don’t see how this is an act of love or how Bette gave up any control. Tina didn’t gain any ground. All she’s done is given Bette another reason to punish her and the cruelty is escalating. If it’s in the contract that Tina can put Bette in her place if she gets too cocky why are there repercussions? Like I said I just don’t get it but I’m trying to be open minded so hopefully I can stick it out until the end.
Thats it??? Bette treated Tina as a pet and what not. And Bette gets THIS punishment??? Treat Tina well or get Bette punished more. What does equal relationship mean?? BDSM is fine, but … where is EQUAL in it??
Thanks for your comments. Maybe I should explain a little about this chapter. The purpose was for Tina to indicate to Bette that she had on a couple of occasions pushed Tina a bit too far (the shelf incident, the conversation on the phone). By the end of their little switch they both come away feeling they understand their boundaries better. Bette’s naughty visions of what she would do to Tina would have happened regardless of whether chapter 23 happened or not. And when Tina is on the receiving end, she will not see this as a punishment – she will love every minute. My intention was for Bette to learn she needs to rein in her cheekiness, and for Tina to witness Bette’s love and respect by seeing her temporarily becoming the submissive. We all respond in different ways, for Tina to possibly restrain Bette and spank her would not have worked in this instance, as Bette does in no way enjoy being spanked – whereas Tina does. Every relationship is different. I hope this explains this one a little better?
