Chapter 5

Summary-

“Tina can I talk with you for a second?” Bette asked Tina, taking her hand and guiding her to the entrance of Kit’s office.

“What is it? You look so serious.”

“Um, I am not sure how to ask this so I guess I will just do it.” Bette seemed serious and worried.

“Ok.” Tina urged her but not hiding the concern look on her face.

“Is there any reason that you would be followed?”

“Followed? What do you mean?”

“You never did ask me what I did for a living.” Bette indicated.

"I just figured you would tell me.”

“You never asked.”

“Bette, what is this about?”

“Do you know anyone in a blue Chevy?”

“No. Can’t say that I do.”

“I know you said the hearing went well, but did anything else happen?”

“No, not that I can remember. I mean Eric seemed unusually nice to me, but that’s about it.”

“Do you think he is capable of hiring someone to follow you?”

“He can be cruel, and he would look for ways to discredit me further, so yes I think he is capable of that.” Tina contemplated and then the reality of actually being followed shook her. Tears welled up in her eyes. “Oh my God.” She gasped placing her hand over her mouth.

“Tina, I’m sorry.” Bette held her in an effort to comfort her and make her feel safe.

It’s been three weeks since their meeting at the Planet. Although Bette had been busy with assignments every free time she had she spent it with Tina. After the hearing Tina seemed in better spirits. She had hope that with this new judge there will be a chance that the existing custody agreement could be reviewed and she would be awarded joint custody of Christian. Since she lost custody her sole purpose in life was getting her son back She has since been promoted to junior Vice President Finance ad a reputable accounting and investment company, although she shares an apartment with Alice she has had lucrative investments in real estate in over the past years. She is a model citizen and has volunteered her services to a local halfway house for battered women and children.
